Suggestion:
I'm suggesting a ban of advertising in nicknames.
Reason:
I really don't find it fair that users can advertise market stations (or casinos, or anything else) using their Nickname feature. I get that you pay the server money for it but it's essentially giving you an extra bit of advertising room that you wouldn't have otherwise. And I don't really consider that fair to the poorer shop/casino owners. The point of nickname is to express your own identity by changing your real name, and advertising shops is not really part of that in my opinion.

If this is suggested, I would amend this:
Clause 10: Nickname(+)

• There is to be no abuse of our Nickname or Nickname+ feature.
• This includes, but is not limited to, having a nickname which:
  • Uses vulgar language,
  • Impersonates another player,
    • Note: Having the permission of the player who your nickname is impersonating does not allow you to use the nickname.
  • Amounts to harassment of another player,
  • Is blatantly spammy,
  • Is over 16 characters in length; or
  • Anything else which the Staff team deem to be inappropriate.
• Refusing to change your nickname when requested to do so by a member of Staff may result in further action being taken.

To this:

Somebody has to pay for it. It's not about what you pay for me, it's more about what you get. And having a nickname to help advertise is something that is unfair and quite frankly should have been outlawed in the first place.

 

Thought about a response to your response for a few minutes and here's what I think.
On the first part, I messed up grammatically. My mistake. I've honestly had a lot of these slips recently, so maybe my head isn't in the right place even making this suggestion. Now to answer your questions. If the name and business have a similar name, all you have to do is not have the business's full name in the nickname. Like, if your business was "Nicit Legal", then you couldn't have a name of **NicitLegal, but of course you could have the name of **Nicit6 as it doesn't really advertise anything. If it's their identity, they should just advertise it the normal way. Do promotions every way you can - but advertising in a nickname is just abuse in my opinion as it basically gives the shop/casino owner ability to have their business or even a command to the business to stand out in the already crowded trade chat.
