Suggestion: I think complaints against users who advertise should be PMed directly to a staff member, or there should be some private way where only staff members and the user who filed the complaint can view it.
Reason: Well think of it, let's say person 1 advertises and a staff member doesn't see it, but person 2 saw it, so they screen-shotted it, uploaded it to imgur or tinypic, or something of that sort, and then filed a complaint. Well person 1, (The Advertiser), is still happy, though they may get banned, the IP is still posted on the forums, and other users can still see it.
Any Other Information: Now, I know there may be responses such as "Well a mod edits the evidence/screenshot out later" and things of that matter, and I know that the staff usually edit that and act on complaints like that very quickly, but still, there is a time frame where users can still get to the evidence and be exposed to the IP.

While I see your point I don't think it is necessary. A normal post will only get like 3 views before it is removed so I don't think the extra hassle is neccessary.

This is a very good idea, +1 -
I am for and against this. The problem with privately messaging advertisement complaints is that there is...
a) No evidence on record for everyone to have available (i.e, researching if a user has done a crime, if they seem like a good person, if Staff later need it to make decisions, take notes, etc).
b) In the case of the above, it would mean the complaints have to be privately messages to the entire Staff. That is not very logical and quite "spammy."
c) Most users who would see the advertisement and bother to check out the advertised server will probably go on there to troll and/or advertise ECC - both of which I believe are against our rules and would get people warned and/or banned on ECC (if caught) and on the advertised server.
There is a good reason for having all complaints (excluding Staff complaints) public. Best way of keep record and having everyone on the same page. I understand not wanting the advertisement to be seen at all by ECC users, but I do not think we have ever had an issue with people leaving before just because the complaint was handled a little later than usual.-

I don't think that is possible, actually (users being able to post in private/group-specific viewed sections). However, it should be possible for an activation of post approvals. Most forum systems have the ability to make a forum section available to everyone, but when people hit "submit" for their thread creation posts, it goes into a queue for Staff to review and accept or deny. -

Or we can have an advertisement sensor plugin so this way it basicaly takes the ip and shows ecocitycraft but mods will be able to use certain commands that will tell them if its a different ip this way we wont have to worry about advertisement complaints.

Really? We are that paranoid of "other servers" that we have to have them never visible to regular uses? Wouldn't the regular forum readers know of a little thing called Google if they wanted to find another server?
Also if this was enacted you could extend this flawed logic into all infractions, thus making all complaints behind a veil of secrecy.
