I do not feel that "Perma" Bans will ever happen here on ECC. The owner of the server will always reserve the right to accept an appeal from whatever player for whatever reason and that is her right as the owner. Therefore, I feel this suggestion will never be implemented.
I understand your frustration but I do believe that our owners and staff are doing what they feel is best for the whole of ECC.

 

If you've been banned 4+ times, there's bigger issues we should be worrying about.

I don't give a flying crap if you've done some 'minor' errors. They're still errors. Like my pa says, if you make the same mistake twice you're a blithering idiot. Learn the first time, and don't do it again. It's incredibly simple. If you had it my way I wouldn't care about how many dedicated players there are; If I had a population of a thousand people and five hundred were trolls/scammers, I'd ban 'em all. It ain't about the dang player count, it's about the community.

First, I believe there never has nor never will be a perma ban on ECC. The owners will always have the right to allow someone back if they so desire.
I think these suggestions are made in good faith as most of us (maybe not you) are absolutely sick and tired of the repeat offenders coming back time and time again to scam and troll. It is hard to convince new players to stay when they can be scammed so easily by players whose rank and donations features make them trusted. This is a shame.

 

I do agree with the hacking point, if someone is banned multiple times (at least 3) for hacking, they obviously know is it wrong. That I one instance in which I would like to see a perma

 

I would like any repitition of a mistake to result in a ban. Once you start banning people, they'll figure out, "Hm... I guess loan scamming isn't such a good idea! I was able to get away with it the past ten times..."

 

Exaggeration much @Dr_Dragon_Slayer ? We all know only 8 or 9 times is probably the most ever :p
On a serious note, is there a club that is offering a prize for the most or the largest scams? The competition is extremely fierce here lately and there seems to be a lot of bragging about how many times or how much.
If this is what is happening, then maybe Jamie needs to create a "scam" leader board (like sg) so that we can all keep track of the "best of the best". ;)

 

Ok well what you suggested was to perma ban people after 4 bans. Nothing was taken account to minor offenses.

 

First off while there's some good logic to what you're saying, but all people do it. While people do learn it isn't always the first time, but that's unrelated to this suggestion. As for the suggestion it gives nothing for people repeating the same offense, while some of those people would be affected by the suggestion, this suggestion is simply saying after 4 bans you're done.

 

Unfortunately some people aren't that smart.

 

+/-1 the idea of making stupid bannable mistakes more and more severe is great.. but like many people have said perma's just dont happen. i more or less support no perma's, i read the forums and know who is coming back for what reasons and i avoid being in those situations with them. quite simple to watch out for your self. i +1 the severity of sequential bans but -1 the perma's.

 

How long have you been here? Have you read the ban appeals and complaints section? You will find many examples of stupidity there. ;)
