+1 Except in the case of scamming. If a user is banned for a fourth time due to scamming, they should have one opportunity to appeal and re-pay those whom they've scammed.

 

If they can't repay then they would be perma'd and their fate would be up to Phys

 

What if someone has 3 bans then honestly changes but a mod makes a mistake and bans him again but since it's his fourth he is perma banned with no appeal?

 

I doubt a normal mod would have the powers to permaban still. Obviously mistakes can be fixed.


EDIT: I don't think this is a good idea because some people are banned for several different offenses. Assuming they were all minor (a ban for minor griefing, spamming, and like 2 other small ones) we could lost a player that didn't mean harm. I still agree more should be done with these repeat offenders. Usually after they reach a point, they have to appeal only to phys. I think that we should make it a lot easier to end up with an appeal to phys ban then it is currently. And right now it is all staff discretion. Staying that way, with lower standards for severe bans may end up helping the server with repeat offenders.

 

Im a little confused here, but my understanding was after 4 bans the user would be perma banned with no chance of appeal, therefore if someone was banned a fourth time it would be permanent regardless of the banning moderator, but the problem is if it's permanent with no chance of appeal how would the user tell staff there was a mistake if it's simply a permanent ban.

As for the seccond part I disagree with this suggestions and I think something should be done but not this.

 

Permabans aren't automatic and wouldn't be automatic which is why there would be room for mistakes. Just pointing out that what you said is nearly impossible unless administration is afk all the time. Which it isn't.

 

Since clearly there is some confusion can you clear up exactly what would happen since this is your suggestion.

As far as I know bans are issued and then appealed to get tempbans. Idk if things have changed but please tell me if they have

They are outright banned and have to appeal to get a temp ban. Tempbans are only used for trolling and only for when it's just a wrong time of the day thing.

If that is the case I don't think this should be implemented because people shouldn't be perma banned for minor offenses as stated above. Something definitely should be done, but this isn't the solution.
