My point is that there always has been, and always will be the option to auction shops off. It isn't our job to debate that, and the staff decided to have an auction for this shop. If they felt it was better to let people snipe the shop, they would. But they didn't, and there's no need to fight that.
He cleared his shop based off of knowledge, and they actions of the administration in the past. He is pissed off that this was auctioned off, and nothing was said until AFTER he cleared his shop. That's why he's throwing a fit, and he has every right to.
What about station70 back in July 2013? It was never auctioned to my knowledge. Tdogg120 won it and sold it for ~1million to random2580. Pex666 used to own it. I was the glass structure next to usernameofdeath's shop in the old market.
If this information is needed, I believe my spawn shop was auctioned after I was banned. It was top-tier, one of the top four in the old market design.
What they are discussing is how there's only been one shop auctioned apart from the main 4 (now main 8) We know all of the top shops have been auctioned.
Spawnshop #67 auction. (2 week time-frame) Yes you can later extend with further apps at normal price. Auction Closes August 25th at 11pm EST Round 1 starts the bidding at 20,000 EcoDollars for the 2 weeks. Minimum bid increments will be 5,000 EcoDollars. You can of course bid by much more. Red highlighting is mine @Iticip I did try to refresh my screen just to make sure I was not looking at the cache, but I may be wrong.
From the looks of it, it looks like it will take over 2 weeks to auction off, if "Round 1" is 2 weeks.
Back in the old market it was more common for the four largest shops to be auctioned and the other 'top floor' ones were sometimes and sometimes not, that was left up to Andrew. They are high value locations. Should someone pay 20k min in rent, then turn around and sell the shop two days later for 2mil profit, or more? No, I don't think so. Since the market change and the increase of the shop sizes, I think it is highly likely that all of the shops which are 8 high, the truly high value locations (first three rows of shops on each colour), would be up for auction should they expire. With users, in-game, paying 3mil or more for them to trade between users, to auction them off and get that much money out of the economy is perfectly logical. This is also the first top spot auction since both #64 & #67 were auctioned off last December - eight months ago!
What about Penny Stocks? People make millions off of those in minutes, so long as they pick the right one. Jesse Livermore (If I remember his name correctly) started with $5. $5! He made millions in the stock market, the same would be with a spawnshop.
That's an investment and essentially gambling. This is virtually luck, with no nothing to lose, only to gain.
ECC doesn't have a stock market. I get that the economy of ECC is akin to real life, but it is not going to follow the same course as real life things.
