eff 7 is awesome melon sword is boring as heck so dont get it and then star rod is ok. have not tried the others

 

Melon Sword - Reliable Money, but very very boring (unless you watch films while you farm..)
Efficiency 7 Pickaxe - Best money per hour on average, but inconsistent earnings. Up to 30k/hr after mining resets but as low as 12k/hr if you have a bad run. However, you will need ext commands+ and pyro+ to mine safely and efficiently.
Star Rod - Not a great money maker, but something different to do. I make about 12k/hr on average with mine, from both exp and fish (I use a fishing tower)
Efficiency 10 axe - NOT a money making tool, more useful for demolition of large wooden structures.
Efficiency 10 Shovel - Again NOT a money making tool, but useful for clearing land. While on the ground, it is the same speed as efficiency 5 shovels, but is instant while flying, making it useful for clearing farms.

I would not recommend getting either of the efficiency 10 tools unless you already have the other "money making" tools.

 

I prefer the star rod, it is just the most entertaining for me :)

 

ive had an eff7 for around 5 months now without ext command+ or pyro+. i use prot4 and mod erep or someone i trust.

 

I shall rate these tools on a different scale.

Eff 7 : Least lazy tool. Actually takes work to use.

Melon-Sword: Medium Lazy. Not hard to use at all. Takes very little concentration at all.

Star Rod: The epitome of laziness. Therefore the best.

 

um... what about Pump-Axe (eff 10 axe?) im pretty sure that does well in pumpkin business...

 

Pumpkin axes are eff 5, not eff 10. If you're using an eff 10 to make money with pumpkins, you're going to have a bad time.

 

I have a melon sword and haven't yet experienced the other tools. I can say that it is the 'old reliable' money maker for me. Pretty easy to just hold 'w' and left click with YouTube in the background or Netflix on the tele. I personally want to get ahold of a star rod, I'm definitely one of the fans of lazy money making XD!

Yes, It's around 12-14k/hr but it's boring.

 

The Melon Sword is good but boring, you will go definitely for the money.
The Efficiency 7 Pickaxe is one of the best money makers on ECC like @TomKellyCreeper said before, just there's a tiny problem...when mining hasn't reset for a log time it can be even lower than the Melon Sword...I have 2 Melon Swords and 1 Efficiency 7 Pickaxe, i used to use more the Melon Sword, but when I tried mining I started getting tons of money (Only if it's a good run) But with the Melon Sword you'll get the same quantity all the times. So I defiantly recommend the Melon Sword as a first startool, actually my first stratal was a Melon Sword, now I have 2 Star Rods, 1 Efficiency 10 Shovel, 1 Efficiency 7 Pickaxe, 1 Efficiency 10 Axe and 2 Melon Swords, I rent a ton of times the Melon Sword, it's another way to take money of it, but it's dangerous since there's a lot of scammers in the server :S.
