Ok. So im not a complete noob anymore, almost resident, but id like some explanations...
what is a star rod...what is a eff7 and why do the cost so much...and what is a melon sword and why is it so pricey?
I know it has something to do with enchantments...which im not even sure how to accomplish on server (just standard survival mode offline) a little help with this?

A star rod is a Luck of the Sea 5, Lure 8, Unbreaking 3 fishing rod.
A melon sword is an Efficiency 5, Unbreaking 3, Silk Touch 1 diamond sword.
An eff7 is an Efficiency 7, Unbreaking 3, Silk Touch 1 diamond pickaxe.
Basically, all three are these are so pricey because they are custom enchantments. These custom enchantments allow you to make more money than with standard Minecraft-enchanted tools, like maxed rods and eff5 picks. With each of these tools, you can make between 8k-20k per hour, which is why their prices are 1500 or 2000 stars :)

Pros: Cheaper than eff7/msword, makes around 8-12k per hour, don't have to pay 100% attention to screen when using, don't have to wait for mining reset
Cons: High Fishing McMMO level needed, sometimes you catch worthless armor/tools, exp from fishing doesn't sell for much cuurently
Eff7: Efficiency 7, Silk Touch 1, Unbreaking 3 Diamond Pick (1500 nstars/800k)
Pros: Cheaper than msword, makes around 20k per hour
Cons: Need to fortune ores later on, have to be 100% paying attention, need Pyro+ ($30) and extcommands+ ($100) to really make money, profit depends on state of the mining world (updated every month)
MSword: Efficiency 5, Silk Touch 1, Unbreaking 3 Diamond Sword (2000 nstars/1 mil)
Pros: Don't have to pay attention, makes around 14k an hour, don't have to wait for mining reset
Cons: Extremely expensive, need extcommands+ to really make money-

what are "custom enchantments" vs normal survival mode make a stand and enchant enchantments? -
You can mine ores with silk touch to use a fortune pickaxe on them at a later time; this is fortuning. Pyro+ is useful because it makes you immune to lava and extended commands+ gives you the ability to /repair enchanted tools to prevent them from breaking.
Vanilla enchantments only go to certain levels, e.g. efficiency level 5. Custom enchantments can go past that limit, see efficiency 7 pickaxes and efficiency 10 axes as an example.-

UnitedStates2 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-President ⚒️⚒️ Gameplay Architect Premium UpgradeOnly the server can "make" custom enchantments, which you can buy the tools with custom enchantments at the star shop using nether stars, or buy them off other players.
You can't make them by yourself like you would for normal vanilla enchantments. These are special enchantments that are only created by the server.-

Where is the star shop? is eff 5 that much worse than 7? And i thought silk touch 1 and unbreaking 3 were "vanilla enchantments".
so what is a fortune pick...is it server custom also...?
do vanilla enchantments work same as in offline survival mode? If I hop on you youtube and watch some enchantment videos from more recent posts can I do them in ecocity without having to pay USD for something? Ie can I make an enchanting table in my home and achieve same levels as offline mode?

Efficiency 7 instantly breaks stone, it is by far faster than an eff5.
They are. Silk touch was just added to an eff7 to prevent it from being combined with normal fortune, which would cause them to generate too much money.
No, that is a normal fortune 3 pickaxe with efficiency 5 and unbreaking 3.
1.8 would have destroyed the enchantment market even more than it already was before, you can enchant items using signs at /warp expshop. They are bought with experience, you can use /xp to see how many you have. -
So im not gonna mess around with eff7 anytime soon... if I go about getting a eff5 unb3 why would I get silk touch over fortune...is it better to silk touch and then fortune with a seperate pick for some reason? Gonna go check out the exp shop tomorrow to chk prices :) I love this server even though I cant pour water...which annoys me...

Its better to just fortune (unless you use macro mod and 314's tool change macro). People silk and then fortune later because you can only get an eff7 with silk you cant get one with fortune.
