Friendly reminder that blaze spawners in the nether are very easy to seek and destroy with fly+... I always try to break at least 1 or 2 when I gather quartz.
Some people have said that raising the price of exp benefits new players, but we don't all believe that. I think it is an indirect benefit to everyone to have expensive exp. EXP had dropped below $1000 per 30 levels (below $1 per orb). I was able to make maxed out Eff5 tools for about $2500 at this price. The market price for these tools was starting to drop below $5000. I don't think we had even hit rock bottom yet, so it could have kept going down. The prices for Prot4 armor, enchanted books and maxed out swords/bows were similarly dropping very low. I don't think it is good for the server and the economy to be able to get the best possible gear and tools so easily. If someone voted for 1-2 weeks, they could come away with a max set of tools/gear with nothing but nether star money. People like a game where they are not just handed everything so easily. There should be a progression from newbie to elite. That's why I think high exp prices are beneficial to the server.
That's only because they're more difficult to hide :b I literally spend hours just hiding 1 or two blaze spawners. I first remove the part of the stronghold that connects to the spawner and make sure you can't hear any blazes from the stronghold. Then I create new "spawner pedestals", because the strongholds usually have 2 spawners, so if you can't find 2 in a stronghold, expect one to be hidden. And then I set up the spawner itself. I once even went crazy enough to remove a stronghold completely (except the underground parts, I simply covered those up. This was a waste of effort, but it kept me busy/entertained.
Some of us don't have the privilege of fly+ (yet), so I end up selling my spawners instead of setting them up. I hate spending too much time in the nether as it makes me feel tense, lava, massive drops, blazes etc. The one time I did set one up, pretty badly, I blew up the path leading to it and made it blend into the surroundings.
Like others have stated exp prices were dropping so much that they were gonna most likely crash. I do not mind people using /near to find me, most of the time though when I am in the mining world it is mining not hunting, and I don't have a spawner there on purpose. I have found at least 50 spawners (unclaimed) since the last reset, and I have destroyed them all. I do have 4 blaze spawners that I have found in the nether, I don't really use them though and if someone found them I would not be upset one bit. All is fair and all that mumbo jumbo. I am not apart of the wealthiest tier on the server, but I am not "middle class" either. Most my money is in assets and towns, and donation features. I purchased extcommands+ with in-game money to other users which cost me 600k ecc so I believe I have the right to use my ability, which was created for the purpose of tracking down people to do with as I please so long as I don't cause the death of a user intentionally with it. If I see a person at a spawner I sponge out the water so the zombies or whatever stop flowing to them, while they are afk, then I break the block and kill the creatures.
My double spider spawner got destroyed today, I guess I will just find another. He did try flooding the area in lava and very nearly killed me, which I do not think was very nice. xD
That better not have been someone from the posse, and trying to kill people with lava is abusing donation features did you report the person for that.
Quite annoying that it won't let me quote. Anyway I did get a SuperMod to check it out but there was no evidence that is was placed to kill me. I got it investigated after to find out the name and I do not believe it is anyone part of the spawner posse though I may be mistaken.
Tans already did and it was dismissed. I think the bar is very high for showing the all important "intent" Merely placing lava near someone doesn't show intent (anymore?) But yes members of the posse should take tans' advice and while breaking the spawner take extra care to protect the afk player if at all possible.
Yes as I mentioned in my last post, I sponge out the water, break the spawner, then kill the mobs, then jump in the hole that moved the mobs to the player and clear them out if there are any left over.
Wow, I guess I should have read all these posts first since I just came up under a spider spawner you were sitting at ( I heard them). That is as far as I got and appreciate the heads up about the lava since I did set a home under you and could have came right back into lava if it is even the same spawner. For the record, I do not set lava since I have no intention of losing my donations as they were too hard to accumulate.
