I feel like I'm being corrupted by the dark art of spawner hunting. Today I broke a spawner, took chests and an etable. Then when the guy asked for an investigator, I charged him $1000 to tell him that I myself did it. 30 minutes later I felt so guilty that I gave him his money back and paid for the blocks I took.
http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/selling-spawners.81204 We may have to stalk this player. dork1877 we have a job for you.
i agree if anyone sees this player in the mining world, they should PM other members of the posse online at the time
This is what I'm doing from now on: Only break the blocks needed to get to the spawner(s). Break the spawner(s). Kill the mobs left over. Leave. I want to make it as impersonal as possible, I have no enmity towards these exp farmers personally.
I agree. I often get offered money in return for not destroying spawners, and sometimes am in the firing line of some very nasty comments or accusations when destroying spawners. I find that the best thing to do it to destroy what I must and tp away as soon as possible. Taking any loot from chests just aggrivates the situation and replying to whatever they say tends to either make me feel worse or makes me more inclined to be rude back to them. I think this is a good practice to follow for all members of the posse. /endorse Even if we "can" doesn't mean that we *should* Coughcoughknightbombcough
Oh boy I broke my first spawner yesterday and it was awesome! It was a good ole zombie spawner and I knocked it out of the park! This is actually pretty fun! I can't wait.until the mining work gets reset and I can get some fresh spawners to break
Questions: So how does one get there own experience without paying for it, if all the spawners are being destroyed? Is this cornering the market for the select few? Is the "Spawner hunting posse" destroying there own spawners, to support their cause? Just wondering...
1. From using spawners not yet found. 2. The more exp you have saved up, the more this benefits you. Some who benefit the most don't hunt at all and some who benefit the least hunt all the time (for fun). I think we do it just because it is very rare to be able to affect a market. Usually the forces are too great to fight. 3. No, I use my own spawners (when I have them) to stockpile xp that will go up in price.
Thank you for the answers... Just sounds like those with a lot of stockpiled experience are bored and are controlling the market to benefit the very few, under the guise of it being for the benefit of the many, i.e. new players. I don't buy it. But oh well. Thanks anyway.
You are barely a week old on the server your opinion is null because you have not witnessed anything to do with the exp market.
According to your group, I am suppose to be benefiting then from your efforts, correct? I've seen this sort of thing happen before on other servers and all I see is the tyranny of the privileged few at the expense of the many. Tell me, does anyone hunt YOU using "/near" while you are grinding experience? Or does your group only do that to other people, the other people who are far less likely to have "/near," an ability that you have to purchase with real world dollars? While you may think you have just intentions, the way you have gone about it just makes players already flush with experience vastly more wealthy at the expense of new players.
I think you should get your facts right before you make sweeping statements. And I highly doubt you have seen this sort of this happen on any other server. I am not wealthy by any means. Firstly I am hunted by others using /near and take the necessary precautions to stop them from finding me. Things like constantly moving and holding shift stop most people from finding me. We are not a group. Yes some of us work together but most of us work alone and simply exchange ideas or help each other. I personally do not have /near but use other methods such as looking for name tags, following players or asking others with /near for locations. I also mine and destroy any spawners I find along the way. I personally do not benefit nearly as much as others do, and the people the benefit the most are not even the ones doing this. I farm exp, yes, but that does not stop you from farming it. Our intentions are to increase the price of exp and return the server to a "hardcore" economy as it is meant to be. And just so you know, anyone can purchase donation features, just find a player who is selling them and exchange ecodollars in return they will donate for you. EDIT: It seems you have donated more than I have. I hope that this answers all your questions so that you will do your research next time. If this is too long for you dork1877 will be happy to summarise I am sure.
