So as I was reading up on spawn shops I thought it would be a good idea to have two people who coowned a single shop. Then they split the profits and the costs. Not sure if this would work but it sounds like a good idea. Any ways to make it better?

Although this is a good idea, we cannot do this because of what weatherryan said.

Yeah, I understand that now. But couldn't one guy handle all the signs and financials and the other guy provides the material? And then they split the profits and stuff.

Of course you could do that - just understand that only one person is listed as owner and the agreement you make would probably not be able to be done in an enforced contract as staff normally do not approve "open ended" or "trust" contracts.
    Wishing you success!

Yeah the two owners would have to trust each other and be honest people.
