You are saying this like you don't have the ability to get a town. The names "builder", "resident", "mayor", etc. don't have anything to do with what they are in real life. Ranks have to have a name so that is what they were named. Our server is focused on ranking up and gaining the features that come with these ranks so basically your suggestion is to completely change what the goal of the server is.
I smile after reading this - the problem with this suggestion and many others before it is exactly the opposite the point of the article. I have (and still do) spent countless hours of my time mining, farming, fishing and building over the last 1 1/2 years on the server. I follow the rules, help others when I can, and completely enjoy my time playing here on ECC. Far from the idea of the article you recommended which would call me "fat and lazy" - not lifting a finger to work, but taking the food off the table of children in order for me to succeed. In fact, that is exactly what you are asking when you say that everyone - even those that have done absolutely nothing to improve themselves or the server deserve all the perks that many others have spent their time performing. I say get to work, enjoy your time on the server, and succeed in whatever goals you set for yourself. - Oh, and follow the rules instead of wishing to change them to fit your goals
Admiral, I have no idea where you got a "fat and lazy" thing from, but im just saying with a huge vast amount of money people could manipulate market prices on a large scale
@unitedstates2002 there is nothing in the article you posted that has anything to do with this suggestion.
The thing is that if you make a town we want it to actually be used. Allowing builders and residents to make them would just block the land with tons of unused towns. Making them work to get mayor makes sure they actually want the town. Ex. I am currently at 105k. I could of applied for mayor weeks ago. Why not? I want to actually work on planning out my town so it has meaning and purpose, I don't want it to be unused.
The loan scamming idea would only work great on paper. First off, we would need the GA+'s to find the scammer's chests, asses the assets, which can't truly be valued as they're not worth anything to the server. And finally, if you get scammed, that's your own fault. You did not have to deal with that person if you did not trust them, and loaning money to people is not endorsed by the server. -1 to all
