Well since there are none in Ecocitycraft, I don't want players cash on hand to lose value because of inflation.
I want to keep this forum conversation respectful. You may disagree but you don't have make fun of a person to get your point across.
Administration does keep track of inflation and makes changes when they are needed. This information is kept private for various reasons.
Allow me, then, to more respectfully tell you why none of this is going to happen 1. User-created banks are not prohibited, if that's what you're assuming. They are allowed, there are several of them, and they work just fine. 2. I don't know if you think that Phys just sits around and twiddles her thumbs all day, but making her have to control what would be such a massive operation would not only be ludicrous but also unfair to her and all of the staff team considering all that they currently go through. The staff team already monitors inflation rates and stems economic inflation in the form of /sell and application costs. Money enters the economy via voting and /sell and leaves via rank applications and star items. That's how it's been for the past four years and we've never had any issues with it. 3. A /inflation command would be an absolute nightmare to code and develop as there is currently no open-source plugin that could do this, so developers would have to essentially start from scratch. This is not only incredibly time-consuming, but is also expensive as funding private developers to code this would likely have to come out of Phys' pocket. 4. http://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-help-pay-back-scammed-players.113246/ 5. If you actually knew how World Guard worked, then you'd know why this can't happen. Processing town applications is already such a massive pain, why should we make it more available? Not only that, but it would take away from ECC's primary money-dump (upgrading from Builder to Mayor would only cost 85k as opposed to the 100k that it is now), which could cause the very inflation issues that you so vehemently object. 6. The 15k resident fee is not that hard to make, you can upgrade to resident first and then buy your spawn shop without that much trouble. Contrary to popular belief, rank =/= wealth. I know builders and residents with 7-digit balances and I know Tycoons and EcoLeaders who are flat broke. Wealth is determined by a player's determination, character, and work ethic. If you don't want to work to get the 100k to get a town, then just stay as a builder. This is a hardcore economy server meaning you actually have to put in in order to receive. What do you think happens to scammers? Players loan scam, get banned, appeal the ban, and either work to pay off those who've been scammed, or they get banned again. Sometimes players don't get their money back but that's life, and frankly, it's their own fault for loaning money to someone they can't trust. Your suggestions in regards to banks and inflation control are reasonable, however they've been suggested already countless times before and you've yet to offer any new insight as to how these can work on a server. Your suggestions in regards to "ECC is like Feudal 14th Century Europe" are just plain misguided and poorly researched. I get that you want to see this be a more realistic economy server, but in case you haven't noticed, this is not real life. This is Minecraft.
The feudalism comment is because, your preventing builders, residents ect, from owning towns because they have "lower status" and don't have high status like tycoons and presidents.
Except in feudal Europe, one could not graduate to higher statuses and were doomed to live their lives slaving at fields for meager wages. On ECC, you can farm pumpkins for a couple days and have enough to buy mayor and get a town. You act like there are absolutely no opportunities to rank up and reach higher statuses. Clearly, you're just not trying hard enough.
No one prevents anything - the opportunity is the same for everyone who plays here on ECC. The rules are in place to preserve order and to prevent the very inflation you talk of. Do you really expect those of us that have worked hard, invested our time and money in the server to wish someone who has shown no dedication at all to achieve the same goals and have the same opportunities? It is simple here - it is a hardcore economy server - set goals - reach them - and enjoy playing the game while you get there. This is an awesome server, though, it is not right for everyone unfortunately. The idea of working hard, playing nice, and achieving goals is beyond some. I hope you will decide to invest your time, work hard, and stay with us. Wishing you success!
AdmiralID I completely agree with you, the point im trying to get across is that builders should be able to own towns and spawn market stalls
