    Hello V6ud,
    Seems to me like this is a thread for users to post their goals in helping EcoCityCraft while still striving for Moderator. Here are some of my goals I believe I need to work on within the next month for the next Staff Application.

    1. Help more users.
    2. Be patient.
    3. Keep quiet.
    4. Build Efficient Farms.

    Thanks, go to V6ud for creating this thead. By posting on the forums, it will encourage me to achieve these goals. Also, congratulations to the new Moderators who were added to the amazing Staff Team. I am positive your assistance will go a long way.

    Love you all,
    Blowtube123

    Finally some one who gets it! ;u;
    P.s. "People that didn't got moderator" should be "people who didn't get moderator."

    Don't be too sad about not being selected as moderator. More opportunities will come. My understanding of what makes a good mod is someone who is fair, knows the rules and is able to be mature in enforcing the rules. I think that I would make a good mod. But, I don't apply for moderator because I have enough responsibility in my life and mods have heavy responsibilities. It's not all roses. I wish you the best next time staff applications are open.

    I just discovered this thread, so here is my two cents;

    Moderators are chosen for a reason, for one reason or another, they did something that made them stick out in a way others did not. I got the position after two tries, and it's something that takes a lot of dedication, perseverance, and thought.

    So, let's say your application was denied. You're upset and are questioning; why them and not me? Something I did on my first go was save each applicant's application to my computer. Once Staff were announced, I reviewed over the new Mods' applications and saw what made them stick out and how I could model myself after them. This is one of the most important parts about getting denied; what you do to bounce back. If you mope and whine about it, you'll be hurting yourself far more than helping. Always look for ways to improve, you need to look at yourself critically and really think about what you did wrong, and how you can improve. If you cannot come up with a single reason for why you weren't accepted, then you've already failed.

    Do not give up, continue to look for ways to improve yourself, enhance your reputation, and benefit the server. Good luck to all of you in the future.

    Being accepted as a moderator in the past, I feel I should comment on this post.Even though I've left the staff team for inactivity (school was starting). I feel I have some useful knowledge.

    Remember that being a moderator is simply a title to recognize you for your good deeds and to give you a bit more power to provide a different level of assistance. By no means, can you not help others without being a moderator. Simply answering a question, guiding a starting builder or just playing nicely are helpful actions. You will be recognized for good actions throughout your time on ECC starting from the moment you joined to now, not just during staff apps are open.

    Your time will come. It does for everyone and it did for me. Keep working at it, improving your daily ECC behavior and your blue title won't be far off.

    It truly isn't as simple as studying the staff who were chosen or doing a bunch of good deeds... the qualities needed for a moderator is basically personal preference and opinion. For instance, for some of the recent picks I thought "What was the staff team thinking?" yet for some I agreed. Some people would like nice staff but I would prefer strict staff. When I look at staff I don't see people who do good deeds, I see leaders. I see those who can carry situations and I put trust into them. A quality I suppose everyone can agree on is being helpful, but can't this be faked? If you are only doing giveaways or donating to only get staff then you aren't right for staff. Users who do it out of the sheer kindness of their heart and they would do it mod or not are the people who most likely will get staff in my eyes. I look at staff for those who stop arguments or flaming and those who don't contribute or start them. I really don't know what the staff team looks for but for everybody it is different...

    if this wasn't true why would there be "What is the job of a moderator" question... I'm sure most of the questions dont have a single correct answer
