villager trades use crops and give emeralds which turned into blocks give quite some island points/levels so theres a good use for them. also they actually get bought by some players simply for the aforementioned reason.
I've recently implemented two unlimited cactus challenges. https://www.ecocitycraft.com/forum/threads/suggestion-cacti-skyblock-challange.176629/ I am however against allowing farming ECD on SkyBlock. Farming ECD will always be on the Main server. The Main needs to have something exclusive and Main-ish - farming ECD/making ECD will be just that, especially when people start gaining prestige for that 1.1x - 1.5x /sell hand capabilities.
