Hey guys, with the new donation feature Landscaper coming out and making WorldEdit impossible to apply for, without buying it, I thought I should make a poll.

WorldEdit is already about 50k making it expensive, but now adding a whopping $30.00 USD donation is just unnecessary in my opinion. A $30 donation is 90k, then plus an additional 90k or $30 USD makes it VERY expensive. Plus you can't even sell WorldEdits to other players, you can only use on your towns ONLY.

In this poll you can put your own opinion in. I want it removed, and at the very least lowered in price.

I think Andrew did this because it will cut his work load down a lot. Can't blame him even if I agree I want this donation feature removed.

It wouldn't hurt, but since this isn't under the Suggestions page, it will not be taken seriously by the mods or andrewkm.

I believe rabbid already suggested this.. And i completely agree.

Users who donate for landscaper should be able to use it to sell worldedits to non donars. I believe there is an easy way to utilize the application to prevent any griefing. Maybe have the town owners approve the world edit in the application prior to the application being approved and completed by andrew. This would provide income for the donars and continue to pull money back into the server just the same.

As far as andrews workload with world edits. Why can't he have some of the more trusted admins/mods complete world edits to help reduce the amount of time required to Manage the server? The world edit system is not overly difficult to perform and i assume some of the admins are already familar with it.

To be honest I just don't see the real value in the feature other then to reduce the amount of work for andrew (I completely understand), however there needs to be value in it for the community as well.

Not sure if any of this is really valid and im sure there is something I may be overlooking, but i figured what t e heck.

The problem is this: the time it takes to apply for a WorldEdit is nothing. There were about 10 WorldEdit apps per week before Landscaper. It would take around 30 minutes to apply for all this. So 2 hours of work can satisfy the whole server's need for WorldEdits for a month. What should the Landscaper do for the other 29.5 days of the month? What should the other 10 Landscapers do for the rest of the month? There simply aren't enough WorldEdits to be able to sell them. There is no way for Landscapers to make profit from this.

Sorry to be the bad guy here, but I have to express an extremely valid point. With the exception of water and pyro all of the donation features are something that gives a benefit you would not get in single player. Ok so fly in creative, but c'mon this isn't a creative server. Andrew is not telling you that you have to pay to play, or pay to get experience orbs from ore or smelting, etc. Do you really blame the guy for not wanting to take up hours of his already limited time, to do our work because we're lazy?! Maybe builders will do a bit more work if we stop offering them $100 an hour. You were going to spend $30k+ on a worldedit, so pay good. The builders I hire always stick around, sometimes too long! You get what you pay for.

Let's just deal with the fact that he was getting rid of worldedits. Users spoke and said they would pay real money for his time to do their work, and he provided those users an option. It's not going to change.

My opinion has nothing to do with the fact that I made the forum medal for Landscaper! Or does it? BWAHAHAHA!

You have a valid point, but I'm talking about something else. Andrew can choose to leave it at $30 if he is low on time, but if he lowers the price, the server will get more money. That's all I'm trying to say.

It hasn't been processed yet. :p

    ...Well, here goes nothing.

Let's start with a simple question here... Do you guys want worldedits to even be an option period or not?

Seriously, I don't see how it's harming you in any way. Worldedits wouldn't even exist now if this donation feature didn't come along, and for a good reason.

You cannot seriously think that Andrew should do all your work in clearing out towns for you just because you spent an hour or two farming. The fact that worldedit is even still availible shocks me and I'm all for this way of stopping people from purchasing them all the time every chance they get.

And if you answered no to my earlier question...then why did you say no?
Do you not want other people getting ahead of you in clearing their towns first for whatever reason? Don't worry about that stuff.
I really am curious why so many people answered yes to the removal of the feature - It's either this or no worldedits, and trust me, you want to be able to worldedit.

The way this is now, you can purchase the feature once and then you can get as many worldedits as you want. (As long as you have the money.) This discourages worldedits which can lead to people being more creative and making nice, non-flat towns, which, trust me, look a lot better. It also cuts down on workload for Andrew which is also important. It also adds to the donations to the server = more money for the server = a better experience for everyone.

If the feature is removed, the only benefit anyone would get that I can see is not having to worry about how that other town is no longer ahead in progress because they can now only work just as fast as you... Yay...

I seriously want everyone who voted yes on this poll to rethink it a bit with non-bias opinions.
