Hello,
Do you think I with 115k in cash, and over 35k in tools and property should buy resident? Well my decision is no at the moment!
1. I don't do much on the forum.
2. Don't need the resident perks like 100 LWC protections and others.
3. Waste of money since I want to save to buy a msword.
4. Don't want to trade and happy with my big plot.
5. Own my own large cocoa bean farm which generates enough money.
So really, a builder with more ECD than some mayors... need resident "just for show" since I don't need it? Well I see it as 15k down the drain almost 10% of my assets! Probably after I buy a msword, I will buy resident... and maybe up to president. So really with lots of money, and having played for a month... is a not-needed option like "resident" needed for me?

I would say yes, its 15k and trade signs can be useful. Oh, and also residents are more trust able as I see you have a loan business.

If you get yourself Resident Rank, you can get another way of making money, like putting up Trade Signs or renting or buying a Market place spawn shop.
Also, when you have Resident Rank, you are able to put more locks on chests and create private blocks.
If you have lots of items and you need more room, getting Resident rank might be useful.-

Personally, IMHO, I think having a town that no one can take from you, for any reason, is a huge security blanket. But that is me. -

I would rather trust a builder who I know is rich then a resident, stay a builder until you NEED resident. :)

Really Original! I love the thought of trust since I do a lot of trading over the Auction channel. Hopeful, when I decide to maybe invest in my own town... I will!
Ps. Rank doesn't matter in the auction channel and the trade channel. It only displays in global.
Most deals I do in the auction channel involve me buying nstars. -

I bought resident only because you have to, to be able to get to mayor. I find it not that much more effective than builder and 15k of my total net worth of about 50k is a lot. I am content with resident many more seem to trust me and my town owner lets me own an entire street of plots in which contain houses built by my friends, resident is ok can be worth it...

If you don't need all of the perks try to get the Melonsword and try to save up enough money to get from builder to EcoLeader in one day that would be funny. Most of the people won't believe the statement: "I got from builder to EcoLeader in one day without using lotto". That my sir would be hilarious.

Being a resident makes you way more trusted. I don't know about how others feel about this, but I wouldn't rent out a star tool to a new builder. they need to gain trust, and a rank is one way of showing that. Along with being around awhile, but when you are around awhile, you aren't usually a builder anymore. If you would like to continue being a builder then there is nothing against that though. Have it your way :p

Not saying your mayor would do that to you but it is possible and is within the ECC rules.
Wishing you success!-

I think you should give back all the money that everyone donated to you. As you clearly haven't used those donations for what you said you were needing them for.
