What should be banned: pack that lets people see spy kit user particles. NOT all packs that have modified particles. Turt & I have already stated that.
Your defense that states other people have most likely already been doing that, using other means than that pack may be correct however not everyone knows how to do that and the pack will most likely increase the use of that particular pack and decrease the need for the spy kit.
Concerning money this pack isn't beneficial. Spy kit users will eventually stop using it cause their particles will be seen anyways. Making them feel like their money was wasted.
If people see that the spy kit is rendered useless because of the pack they won't buy it. Who would want to buy that?
Kits are made and sold so that Andrew can get donations to help better ECC and any other means but with a kit being useless, sales will drop thus taking away future donations for ECC.
Making a kit useless, being unfair to users who have the spy kit & losing money is why the pack that lets spy kit users be seen is bad. Once again... Since it's been mentioned twice already NOT ALL packs with modified particles should be banned.

Ok nicit6
1-The point is wouldn't it be more advantageous for mods to have another way to weed out potential hackers can always say it's s texture pack when in reality they have actual hacks but due to the lack of evidence nothing can be done and this player can continue to make the arena an unfair place to pvp.
2- I have to strongly disagree changing the gamma will impact everything and is not targeting a specific aspect of the game. Enhancing the pixels of invs player is obviously changing a specific part of the game play. If this isn't enough of a reason then let me state anything your computer settings or default minecraft can do is legal anything else is open to speculation.
3- this is a ligament advantage what if instead of big black squares the player makes it giant targets? Or to the extreame make the pixels larger to outline the body? Is that still not a legitimate advantage? The definition of a legitimate advantage varies.
4- simple as well. As of now only packs that change the pixels invs players give or AND the pixels kicked up by the feet. For example is it fair to have players who are invs kick up bright red pixels? No again an obvious advantage to even the playing field.
Last comment, remember I really want to be able to eliminate players using the texture pack as an excuse my goal isn't to hunt them down. So when you say we can only catch them if they admit that's the point. I don't want them to have that excuse it's a way to cover up more serious hacks. -
...Spy kit user particles can be seen in literally any pack. You are not, nor should you expect to be, 100% undetectable when using spy. Some packs make them more visible. Some do this intentionally, some do not.
I am 100% against any rule that will only punish the people who come forward about it. I have not once seen these texture packs used as a legitimate excuse. Not once. This is not something that is broken, and attempting to fix it causes more harm than good. -

(My response)
I will not provide links to complaint forums as that'd invasion of players privacy. However I would like to point out it happens a lot if your aware of it or not. About what u said about rules that will punish the people who come forward about it. Does this mean your against people admitting to Xray, scalingplayers , or cheating in other ways? This is basically what you state :\ do you think players sshould be forgiven if they admit? But that's besides the point, we have both agreed this is unfair "as of now" (not speculating what someone might or might not do).
Taking into account, that we both think it's not fair (be in a perfect world or not) this means it's a way for players to by pass the rules with out fear of punishment therefore something put in place to stop people from being taken advantage of, to provide an equal and stable gaming environment, and just overall morality this is causing good. The only harm it causes it to those who are using this to gain an unfair advantage. -

Here's an example of a resource pack with easily noticeable particles. (Go to 0:35 for potions)
Seeing someone with those stars constantly on them would make the invisibility potion useless, because they don't have any amount of stealth.-

The only purpose of buying spy is to get an advantage. And even with these texturepacks you still get a ridiculous advantage. I don't think i would let some silly texture packs change your point of view.

These are normal resource packs with a focus on making PvP less annoying. Banning people for these kind of texture packs is an outrage, we would be banning people for using a texture pack, these kind of particles can be in any texture pack.
I agree that the fully black particles should be banned, but ones similar to the one you just provided as an example is not going to be banned, ever.-

Turtwiginator95 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Thank you, for your input I'll push more for this specific pack if the question is raised. But if u can plz explain more about board line packs. What makes them different? My main problem is that the black pixel pack just targets the pixels so that's my biggest problem.

chessgeek10 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Resident ⚒️You're right. I did choose a really bad example. I was simply trying to show what modified particles could look like.
I should have spent more time looking for a good particle modification texture pack. :/ -

I have my video settings set that i can see maximum pixels that come from the world, this means when people run, visible or invisible, i can see the particle dust coming from their feet, it is not a hack, it is in the settings of the game, it isnt unfair, it is one of few negative instances against the spy kit.

Turtwiginator95 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️As previously stated, changing something in the game that has already been provided for you isn't modding, hacking, add-on, or even a texture pack. This is a natural state of the game. It's the same as changing the brightness that's what the developers intended that setting to do. It impacts all aspects of the game and doesn't target a single aspect like a hack or mod does.
-
Berserk_on_xbl BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️if you read my entire post you would see that i said it wasnt hacking, wow...
-
Turtwiginator95 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️
I don't understand your reasons for saying it's not. I'm not saying your hacking if that's what your saying
-
Berserk_on_xbl BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️My post stated that changing video settings included with the game to see the particles is NOT hacking, you are still misinterpreting what I had said.
-
Turtwiginator95 BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️
What you do is a simple setting. It's already programed into the game the same as brightness. So your method is completely different from what this thread is about. This is about texture packs specificly designed to see the invs pixels of a player. Your method influences the entire game not just one aspect. Also as stated it's already a feature of the game itself.
