Brief Description:
I received $15,000 on the forums at 6:38PM EST, for seemingly no reason. It is 10:14PM EST and I am only a level 7, with 2 deaths.
I destroyed my entire island upon starting, so perhaps it is because I was an island level -5 and achieved island level 5 (thus 10 levels) and received the reward?

You were -3 to start, which is a handicap. This means that when you reached level 0, you met the condition to reward you. (level MOD 10)
0 mod 10 = 0.
