Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's XZ so across the X axis, 143 Blocks, across the Z axis, 144 blocks.

But then I kinda recalled that staff can fly through solid blocks, somehow, so I did a quick search and discovered that it's pretty easy to do in singleplayer, if you activated cheats (quite likely, as you're presumably playing in creative).
For the benefit of everyone: you just have to use the command /gamemode spectator in order to fly through solid blocks, if you need to do that when saving the schematic. If you need to get back to creative (you can't do anything in spectator mode), just do /gamemode creative.

Does the portals have to be a specific size or can they be big ? I am thinking for incense making the hub portal a bigger size than the other portals as I believe this will be best to be the most noticeable in regards to the future.

Is this good or is it preferred to keep them all the same sizes/what size is preferred?

In the interest of getting a decent looking spawn from everyone - PLEASE DON'T DO THIS.
Despite the above suggesting otherwise, we actually haven't had any official confirmation on if/when the hub will actually re-become a thing. I don't want to see a bunch of spawns submitted with their centerpiece being the hub portal, only to be selected and have a hub portal sitting empty at the center of spawn for what could work out to be months, or even not at all. Even with official confirmation, it shouldn't be the center. It's reasonable to assume (as this was stated for the hub previously) that if/when the Hub project comes to fruition, that the new player spawn will be in the Hub. That means players would be coming into the main server through the Hub portal, and imo it doesn't make a lot of sense for the grandest thing to be the portal they just walked out of.

tl;dr: Main server is center piece of possible Network; Network is not center piece of main server, should not be treated as such

 

Oh, I realized: what does "center" mean? The width along X is odd (143), so the meaning of "center" is obvious; but the width along Z is even (144): should we floor or ceil?
