    Yesterday, I was told to change my signature because it contained the phrase, "Moderator of <insert minecraft server here>". I did change it, which you can see below, but I believe what I did is NOT advertising. First, you need to look at the rules. The only rule of server advertising:

    It says NOTHING about the definition of advertisement, and most of you would probably thinking "Oh, its saying the IP and telling people to come". Well, if you look at the definition of advertising, it states:

    What I did was not for the purpose of advertising, it simply meant that I was a mod. When I was speaking to a mod earlier today, the mod said that stating the name (nothing else, just a name) is a kickable offense.

    My point here is to say that I want to say that I am a mod on the server here. I don't care what this server calls "advertising", but if they want to be stricter about it, you need to state it so in the rules.

    It's almost just as bad to say the name as to say the IP. It doesn't take long to google it and get the IP. Thus, it was 'bad' to have there.
    Keep in mind that while it may not be against the rules directly, it's still common sense and mods have the right to punish you for it if they see fit.

    You just defeated your own argument. Having it in your signature IS calling public attention to the server that you are a mod on.

    I'm going to lock this, we've gone over last time itsa, stop trying to go against our rules because it clearly says advertising is not allowed, whether you meant to advertise or not, you called public attention to that server.
