With current nether star prices, this still puts their value at around $1,000,000.Coupled with the melon price being raised, David's price seems more than reasonable. :p

 

I can obtain nether stars at $510 a piece with a 2nd row spawn shop, which works out to be $918000 and would take considerable time considering I get around 40 nether stars a day on average.

The average user would have to buy at a minimum of $550 per nether star from a spawn shop or otherwise, which would place the price of a melon sword at $990000. Even then it could take maybe two weeks or more to gather all 1800, perhaps longer considering the demand for melon swords/nether stars at this moment in time.

Therefore, factory in time and the nether star price, selling a melon sword for around $1mill upfront seems about right.
