Ok so i was talking to oyster today to see if i could help out with a project he manages, and my idea was to add a area where users could safely handle trades, and he said that it was a good idea but since there is no way of the user getting to this spot without being able to do /warp or going to the portal he said i should post a suggestion about it so here it goes:
Almost every other day i see a complaint of a user stealing from a trade, or not getting a item because of stealing, so what i'm proposing is a safe area somewhere in spawn, or close to spawn where users can safely trade items, or do transactions. Now i do know that this would add a whole new building but i think this would save a lot of people the trouble of complaining about stolen items. If this will not be built i could also say maybe have there be a special portal or warp that all users can use to get to a safe area.
I will see if i get any other ideas that could help out with this but if i don't well i think this would be nice to be added.

As of most items, using [Trade] signs with a calculator in hand is the smartest way to do trades. Though, the inconveniences are that builders can't place them, so builder-builder trades can be the most potentially dangerous when it comes to scamming; you also can't place enchanted or used items on them, these 2 are which I assume are the main reasons for posting this thread.
I think one of these 'Safe Areas' would actually be a good idea, but sadly, it would be extremely hard to make it work as expected. It would require an specific plugin to restrict the number of players entering a specific area to do a trade. If it isn't made to work this way, 'stealers' can actually be attracted to these areas in large numbers and many users would be affected, rendering the creation of these areas useless as probably most people would stop using them because of that.
So yes, I like the concept, but unless you got something very specific and ready for being set up in mind efficiently (like an existing simple plugin), I think it would be really hard to make these Areas work correctly and follow their purpose. -
You could always use the build warps, and go to a random location in the wild... or the town portals, to pick one at random and go to a town together.
Even a non-central location in the spawn is relatively safe. Climb up the mining ravine... go to Andrew's fishing pond... in or around the netherack... up in the space shuttle.
There are a lot of ways to get to somewhere that no one else is around. -
I do see bad sides of adding this but all in one, it would make it a bit easier for builders/new players to make safe trades. -
If all else fails there could be just a 1x2 room with a pressure pad inside that holds the door close when the player stands on it. idk just an idea.

I have one like this in my town near spawn as well. It is an lwc locked room, with 2 levers that control the doors from the inside so no one (unless they have teleport or a /home set) can get inside.
The problem is, people are lazy. They do /spawn, walk 10ft to the outer ring just past the warps and then trade. They have no desire to actually go somewhere to trade as it takes time. Heck even walking through the tutorial gate, or portal room gate and trading in that room is safer then down on the main area of spawn but you don't even see people do that either.
