Weak video not a lot of information displayed besides just what you see from the user's the ui. Could be useing any number of mods/addon/hack/etc and just trolling. Yes it is important to bring these things to Andrews attention but the modus operandi of this server has been to "NOT ALLOW 'STUFF' TO UP SET THE ECONOMY". Meaning don't sweat it, Andrew and the admin will look into it. There is no reason to worry, if the video turns out to be true, It will still not be allowed to effect the server.
It is confirmed, I wouldn't doubt the source's reliability on top of also being confirmed ingame. http://minecraft.gamepedia.com/14w31a
i see people talking about blocking making eff5 axes.. there's ways to do that.. but how would that fix the situation? eff4 is still fast, eff3 is still fast. any efficiency axe would likely be faster than the melons word. and how do you propose you would block the eff10 axe? the truth of it all is that andrew's decision to add melons words is now biting him in the ass. melon swords will become worthless next update, and it's not possible to fix it without banning efficiency on axes altogether (and destroy all current efficiency axes). and that is not a feasible solution. in fact, that solution will piss more people off than removing melon swords considering an axe is used for pumpkin farming as well. a possible solution is making melonswords unobtainable starting asap and then letting people trade them in for 1500 netherstars. this way people won't have wasted money (or some money for the 2k netherstars peoples) basically melon swords = screwed
No. Andrew will do everything in his power to maintain the importance of melon swords. I honestly do not know how mad people would be if our million dollar tools became worthless. It would completely upset the economy imo. Personally, I think our developers and andrew will be able to work out a reasonable solution to this problem.
there's 2 options, give people their nether stars back or block even more minecraft features. (more so than it already is blocking..) The more features you block the more upset new users will be. That's not something we want now, do we? New users are, after all, the blood of ECC... unhappy new users = no new donators = server ded! the best option would be to give people their nstars back. (as I proposed last post)
I see a small problem there...with one hit the many nstars that were take out of economy would flood back in. 1. Might make the nstar price drop a lot 2. That "cash inflow" could support inflation by a bit. After all, mswords are a reliable way of taking nstars and thus money out of the economy.
I could not agree more. If there is one thing that upsets the economy the most, it is the addition of a lot of any material, or too much ecd added into the economy. Nstar prices would instantly crash from the 10's of thousands of stars added.
Or just let Melon Swords die just like if the stock market crashed and they lost all of their value. Treat it as an economic obstacle and rise up and find different ways to earn money. All in all though I would not worry too much about it, I remember when Axes were used to do this when I first joined the server, then there was an update and andrew introduced the melon sword, he will find something else to fill the void. Melons are too mainstream anyways let them be nerfed down to pumpkin prices. If you own a melon sword just take the hit (stock crashed) and start with a new investment. Things change, minecraft changes adapt. No use crying over what you cannot control.
I honestly do not think netherstars are going to flood the market, plenty of people are spending them on the plethora of other star items not to mention the netherstar medal on the forums.
Stop worrying. Worst comes to worst, andrew could always allow us to swap in our Melon Swords for 2,000 Nstars... Again, as some of the older and more mature players probably will see the flaws in that such as the value of nether stars so, as I said "If Worst Comes to Worst".
This Just because you invested in something doesnt mean if it goes wrong you can get your money back. Take the hit a get over it. If you work hard enough before the update, you might make enough money to buy a new Axe anyways
The only option Andrew has is banning eff5. What does that do? Kills both melons AND pumpkins. I doubt anyone has brought pumpkins into this. The point is now, not only melons are screwed, but farming as a whole, because the cash crops of farming are now dead.
love this idea and I agree that Andrew should let the economy do its thing it would be very exciting and interesting to witness a the change.
I actually think Andrew should make melon slice farming with a eff5 male more then a silk because it would make pumpkin and melon farming a least somewhat different and otherwards they are exactly the same.
