sorry read the origional post wrong, thought I saw something about mcmmo drops being turned on in that.
To discourage gravel monsters and the farming of these two blocks. The fact that these blocks fall due to gravity causes server lag. Having it happen on a large scale causes large amounts of lag. All drops/prices were nerfed to combat this. It isn't a factor farming from the top down; but to farm from the bottom up, causes the blocks to fall, and hence the lag. I kept thinking I was going to -1 this. Mainly because I didn't want to give any incentive to have people farm these items for any reason. Then I started thinking more and came to the conclusion that I don't think it will change player behavior that much. Players will still farm the sand for the glass and players will still avoid the gravel as it is fairly useless. 0.05 ECD /block won't change that behavior in my opinion. +1 to the suggestion.
Btw, a price of 0.05 would not incentive gravel monsters: you have no reason to monster it if you just want to sell to server.
The gravel/sand monsters were used for mcmmo skill leveling (excavation) as well as the mcmmo drops you got from it... especially the gravel. Leaving that aspect of sand/gravel off will deter the monsters, and thus the lag, but for those who are land clearing or otherwise out mining will get at least something for their trouble of removing sand/gravel from the area.
+1 Wouldn't be smart farm it from bottom up...because you'd have to have it to place it there first, and you might as well sell it instead of trying to get it twice. Might as well get something from these blocks
