    I suggest that the following enchant signs be removed:

    Efficiency V (7000 exp)
    Sharpness V (8000 exp)
    Power V (8000 exp)

    And the following enchant signs be added:

    Efficiency IV (3500 exp)
    Sharpness IV (4000 exp)
    Power IV (4000 exp)

    The anvil was made virtually useless when we changed to enchant signs. Before, it was the only way to achieve level V enchants -- and it was a perk reserved only for those who donated for extcommands+. I think we should return to how things were, and make the anvil a perk once again.

    This change would reinvigorate the enchanted tools market, encourage donations for extcommands+, and create a market for anvil services once again.

    I don't understand why we were all okay with the anvil services market being killed off. I think we were all distracted by the huge change to enchanting and the high exp cost of the new enchanting signs. Let's bring this aspect of ECC back!

    you wouldn't use enchanted books (i don't think). you just combine two tools.

    For example: Eff4 + Eff4 Unb3 Silk ---> Eff5 Unb3 Silk

    Two level four enchantment books combined via anvil I believe.

    I've been pretty disappointed at how the anvil market crashed but every time I feel this way, I lose it when I see how much simpler and more convenient enchanting is now. Although I think you're right, this should definitely help.

    I have a problem with this you cant always make maxed tools/swords cause it costs too much xp with anvils if we could enchant books that would be awesome +1 is not -1

    -1 I do think that taking max tools away from anvils was a bit unfair to extcommands+/++ users. However it would make my life a lot more complicated and expensive, and many many other's lives more complicated too.

    I agree with this. Perhaps reduce the EXP costs a little more though, as you need to take into account the extra EXP used by anvil'ing. I feel that the cost to get to eff V should stay the same cost EXP-wise, but with a little extra cost in perhaps paying someone with the feature to combine them for you.
