I think obsidian should be removed from the spawn store, and no longer be able to be sold to server. The benefits of this is it allows us to test the results of having an items worth completely be decided by the economy and not have base and max prices be decided by the server. We currently only have one item like this and that is diamonds. I think we should try this with obsidian because it’s a high value item, but not in super high demand so it won’t affect too many people with its removal from spawn store. (Plus the price for it there is crazy)

The only drawbacks I see are the removal of a money sink, and a further hit to the value of mining. The money sink I don’t think is such a big deal, because I bet not many people shell out that much money for obsidian so it’s currently not removing much money from the server. The affect it has on mining might be interesting. Currently people can sell it to server for $10. So if we remove this they lose that profit, but if people start paying more for obsidian because it’s now harder to get people stand to make more of a profit selling it to other players .

Basically I’m interested to see how much or how little obsidian will be worth if it’s removed from spawn shop and sell hand. Plus as an economy server I think we should let the economy control as many prices as possible.
