Hello! I have recently joined EcoCityCraft and I think it's absolutely the most wonderful server in Minecraft! Since I am new to Minecraft and EcoCityCraft, I would appreciate it if someone could take time out of their busy schedule to help me out by showing me the server, giving me tips, and a home as well! :)

    Best Regards,
    SimplyRedic

Welcome to ECC! Unfortunately, I can not currently type a thorough tutorial on ECC since I am on my iPad, but I am sure our lovely community can help! Side Note: Make sure to read the wiki and the tutorial.

There is a tutorial area of the server. The portal to take you there is at spawn. If you need help ingame, message a mod such at Original_Jackson or blowtube123 (There are many more)

    Hello SimplyRedic,

First off, I want to say welcome to the server. Now, if you like to look on the forums / website for information, I will direct you to the Basic Tutorials section and the Server's Wiki which have a lot of useful information if you are looking up an exact topic. If you prefer to get information while in-game, you can ask in global chat "/ch g" where anyone free can answer your question, or by taking a quick trip through the server tutorial. The tutorial is found in rising or legacy spawn(Rising spawn is where you first spawned on the server), with the portal being directly behind the spawn point.

Now, as for what to do while in-game, it depends on how you would like to make your money, and there is a pre-written guide in-game that can be accessed with the "/help money" command. Based on which method you choose will determine how you continue, and I will give examples on the two most popular choices. Please note, you can choose to mix the two paths, or take a different one entirely, these are just examples that I see a lot.

Choice 1, Mining in the mining world and living in the wild.

First, do "/kit starter", and go through the mining world portal. If you do no know where this is, go to spawn and ask in local chat "/ch l" and someone that knows spawn will show you to it. Once through the portal, do "/wild land" and do not move immediately. Check to make sure all the surrounding blocks are safe, as it only checks the block you are standing on, and can sometimes land in a tree. Once it is found to be safe, continue to mine/ play as Vanilla minecraft, and ask questions in global "/ch g"

Choice 2, Living in a town.

First, do "/kit starter" as in choice one. Now, ask in trade chat"/ch tr" and ask to join a town, which may take some time. Most towns may require an entry fee based on plot size, however there are towns that offer free plots to builders, or towns like mine which give new users a few real days to pay off their plot. As a new user, I would recommend buying a 10x10 plot, which should cost somewhere between 500-1000 Eco-dollars (in-game currency). Some things to look for while buying a plot are: Is there a public farm, are there free services like water placement or e-repairs, how active is the town, and is there a Spawn-Town portal?

Once you find a town you like and have a plot, you can then go to the mining world like in option one, but have your house in a secure grief free location, or you can take a farming path. If you choose the farm, items that don't require tools like wheat are best for a new user.

Also, if you see me in-game, feel free to message me and I will gladly answer any further questions that you have about the server.

**Please note, this guide is not all inclusive and is missing some information such as how to manage your locks and "/sethome" location, and has left out a few other valid choices.

    Hello @SimplyRedic,

Welcome to EcoCityCraft. I'm sure we're all excited to see a new user join. There are several different paths you may choose to follow on EcoCityCraft. I would like to take a moment to explain a few things that can help you get accustomed to EcoCityCraft.

EcoCityCraft has several worlds and special zones. These worlds and locations are all connected to two main spawn locations by portals and warps, located in Rising and Legacy. The spawns are almost exact replicas, except for a few minor differences. The main spawn location you first joined the server at is Rising Spawn. Rising Spawn is the only spawn to have the Survival Games board.
    • Rising and Legacy Worlds - These are town worlds, where users can zone regions and "/lock" things like chests. At its most basic level, there is no PVP'ing in Rising or Legacy unless someone makes a PVP zone in a town. Rising and Legacy have portals that lead to one another. You can check what world you are in by doing "/getpos".
    • Mining and Nether Worlds - These worlds are generally for resource gathering, and are regenerated about once a month. It is not possible to "/lock" things in the Mining and Nether worlds. Access to the mining world is free, there are no towns in the mining world - so grief is legal, and there is no PVP allowed in the mining world. Access to the nether world will require filing a application for entry, and an application fee that you must possess in your "/bal". These worlds have large portals at spawn, with signs above them. The mining world
    • Aether World - This world is mainly for free building in a sky lands like world. There are no towns, you are not allowed to make farms, and grief is not allowed. Access to the aether will require an application and a fee.
    • PVP World - This world has four large PVP arenas specially designed by the users of EcoCityCraft. There is no fee to enter, but remember, this is PVP, so be prepared to lose what you take with you, and watch your back.
    • Towns Portal Zone - The towns portal area is a special location where towns may connect to a network of portals, allowing any user to walk through them, and into a town. Many town owners of EcoCityCraft have chosen to connect portals to this network (for a fee), but not all towns have portals -- and some block them off for private access. If you are searching for a specific town, you can try searching it's name in this Portal Directory thread.
    • Market Portal Zone - The market portal at spawn leads to user run shops. These shops are rented and operated by Resident rank and higher rank users, and is a center of trade and commerce on EcoCityCraft. Here is a map of the Market. You may also want to read up on how trade signs are formatted, to better understand what you may buy or sell.
    • Server Shops - At the 2nd level of spawn are several server shops. Though you can purchase things in the user market, you can also find a lot of building supplies in the server shops. The server shops are the only place on EcoCityCraft where you can use netherstars to purchase special tools, weapons, and armor. The server shops are also the only place on EcoCityCraft where you can enchant things. Enchanting with enchanting tables has been disabled. You can get to the server shops by a warp sign in front of "/spawn", or at one of several diamond posts around spawn.
    • Tutorial Zone - At the top of spawn, is a set of walk through buildings that function as a tutorial that explains some basic things about EcoCityCraft. You can get here via a large portal at spawn that says "Tutorial" above it.
    • Survival Games - In Rising Spawn there is a board which is used to facilitate entry into the Survival Games arenas. Survival games are battles of wits and brawn, with rewards to be won all around.

I hope this adds a little perspective to EcoCityCraft and can help you in your journey. Let me know in game or on forum if you have questions or need help with anything. I'm always happy to try to help. -- And if anyone else who reads this too needs help, don't hesitate to ping me.
