You bring up a good point! We need to change that to charcoal!

/kit starter should give you 10 charcoal instead!

Change the value of coal and fewer will sell it to the server. Coal does what charcoal does but coal = 1 dollar charcoal = .40 dollar.

I wouldn't trade 1 coal for 2 charcoal based on this reason alone. I would give 2 charcoal for 1 coal however due to the fact I make .20 dollar on the deal.

As far as the map size goes 12,000 x 12,000 = 144,000,000 area.

Let's take a moderate estimate of average depth from y axis 0 as about 32 high.. Taking into consideration oceans, caverns, and areas of high elevation.

That gives us a cubic area 12,000 x 12,000 x 32 equal to 4,608,000,000 worth of soild blocks.

Let's now guestimate a 200:5 ratio or 40:1 for blocks to coal.

That's 115,200,000 coal in the entire map at start.

Now to pull a number outta the dark side of my body.. It takes 1 hour to find 15 coal. (anyone with a better number lemme know)

It would take 7,680,000 man-hours to mine every square and find all the coal ( and everything else for that matter.) so 50 players working around the clock 6,400 straight days of mining to deplete every block.

I am sure I messed something up in all that but the reality is the map will be reset, the game will lose popularity, I will be 49 years old retired, living in the woods hunting big game, walking the Appalachian trail, climbing the mountains of Tibet, fishing in Alaska along side grizzly bears by the time 17.53 years roll around.

Is that right? 17 years. Someone with better than a BA in B.S and a C in math double check the above math.....

An hour to find 15 coal? That seems a bit far off. I've found stacks and stacks of it within about 15-20 minutes.

Lets not forget, with more towns changing to charcoal over coal, we don't want to kill all the tree's! With rising air pollution we need more trees! Your next step should be to ensure that every town has a certain number of tree's and flowers, as well as grassy area's.

As more people begin to turn to charcoal, and lessen our use of the non-replaceable coal, lets not go to the other extreme and kill all our natural forests!

SAVE OUR NATURAL RESOURCES! SAVE OUR COAL AND SAVE OUR TREE'S! IN THIS WORLD OR THE NEXT, REAL OR UN-REAL! WE MUST REMAIN VIGILANT!!!

We must also preserve our wildlife as well! The human species has hunted many animals to the point of extinction and beyond, lets not over-kill our zombies, skeletons and spiders! That skeleton you kill may well be the last! Creepers and Squids are already extinct! DON'T LET THE OTHERS DIE OUT AS WELL!

Oh I don't oppose what you are doing nor will I speak bad of it. You are still free to advertise in my town and place trade signs when the time comes, as Endor will be a free market town. If some find it beneficial to trade 1 coal for 2 charcoal great, let the free market decide, you will be informed when we open up shops.

So let's also revise the time it takes to exploit coal to one hour for 128 coal. I think that comes out to about 750 days of round the clock mining by 50 individual players. A bit over 2 years, and we all do other activities from time to time so it will be a while before we reach a time we need to worry. 2 years is a long time in the life cycle of any game.

I am happy to inform you as why charcoal is sold for less than coal. In the past both were the same one dollar each. But you might notice that logs are not one dollar each. People would make massive walls of furnaces go buy wood from the store (this was when server store price was server sell price) turn some of the logs into planks, then burn away. This turned out to be a very slow profit, but a very big profit. And that there is your reason charcoal was lowered.

Yes I realize that as to why I said lower coal not raise charcoal.

This map will last AT LEAST year with ores. There is about 2.5 milions OR MORE diamonds on map, and then just imagine how much other ores is on map. And lets say 100 users mine 50 diamonds per day, it would be 5000 diamonds per day, that mean it would take 500 days to mine all diamonds, and that is about 16 months. But we must include that large amount users use xray, so it can be reduced to year or so. So guys, don't worry about ores, you just must find place in wild noone was before and make your mine there. And my suggestion is that you get multi homes and set one of your homes there. If you find really good place you can mine in there 2-3 weeks without entering someone other mine.

From rumors, I've heard that he is trading

    1 Coal = 2 Charcoal

Hes hoarding the coal, to either drive the price up, or the fact that hes making an easy 20 cents doing this trade

However, I like this guys thinking, and don't have a problem at all.

Rez, I totally understand where you're coming from. hey it's a free market and If my goal was to exploit coal in the most nondirect way then thats ok. Let me tell you though, I'm not in this for a quick 20 cents. Hell If i know what is to be done with all the coal!

I have to say, I'm fully for this, and if it means that we all plant replacements when trees are cut down, that can't be a bad thing surely, and it might curb the swathes of trees being partially cut down which is an eyesore, sorry, that's a pet peeve for me :) "Mine in Moderation!"

I have to admit, partially cut down trees are an eye sore indeed. Thanks for your feedback Horus.

Again, the answer to the poll is 0.
