Too much lag.

 

well heres the issue with that. You're proposing we either find a mod that could be sliced up for parts then also integrate another system which aloud for one item to return to backpack when the other was spawned. Now I don't think there would be too much lag for the ocelots if there were one only out at a time. THey can also consider a texture downgrade where server side down the bitrate of ocelot then as long as server textures were on FPS lag wouldnt be an issue. The coding however could make the server run slower which Im sure is what he meant by lag.

 

Not exactly a good idea in my mind.

The way I see things is, horses are daily being added into the main world.
Not very many mind you, but every day a few horse eggs are going into the economy.


After a while that's going to pile up. There will eventually be tons of horses.

Although, horses are being brought out of the economy too. Plenty of chances, horse dying, eggs being lost, eggs being used in the wrong world, ect ect ect, but the thing is, will the loss or horses offset the bringing in of horses.

In 2 months will there be more or less horses in the game then now? Most likely, a ton more.
Now in assuming that the horses are never going to die, eggs are never going to get lost, always going to be spawned, this won't be a problem til a long way down the road. But as more horses spawn in, the higher the chance of losing one.

But adding wolves and cats into the main world is not a good idea. Having a price tag at all is not a good idea. It brings the possibility of an unlimited amount.

Even if i had unlimited money, I couldn't get unlimited horses. It would take a while. But with unlimited money, i can get unlimited pets. Now yes, no one has unlimited money. So if we awarded wolf eggs or ocelot eggs with voting, it would cause overpopulation a lot sooner.

As for allowing them to battle, that's just a big no. Adding a "mod" to the server would remove 90% of the players who didn't know how/didn't want to get the mod ect. That's why you get a plug-in. I doubt there are any plug-ins to allow pet battles. If the dev's wrote one themselves it would take a very long time, and not really be worth it with other better things to work on.

Overall, no, I don't really like this idea, not a good one.

 

i agree i think it will also stop the amount of theft if it is easier to get

I never said anything about selling horses either.

And either way, adding dogs and cats will make the huge mainworld lag problem happen sooner, I'm still against this idea.
