Wheat farming requires more "labor" than any type of farming. Melons and pumpkins and sugarcane are very simple, and people are willing to do those methods. But I have always thought that people view wheat farming as too difficult, and personally I think people don't wheat farm because they are too lazy. Wheat farming is a great crop to farm, and it should be higher. It might even make sense to have it as the supreme crop :D

Well wheat instabreaks with only the hand, so why would it almost has the same price as pumpkins which cost 6-7k to buy the pumpkin axe and instabreak the pumpkins? I can't see the logic?

Pumpkins require less effort. You can run through with a 7k tool and then an hour later its all back and planted. If you have a big enough farm you could farm forever without stopping. Wheat farming requires you to turn around and replant. You literally spend twice as much time wheat farming then pumpkin farming. If you want even decent profit right now you need, just like with a pumpkin axe, a 5-7k tool with fortune 3 on it. The difference is, you don't have to replant the pumpkins every round.
Wheat is all about hard work. Wheat, carrots, and potatoes are the hardest things to farm simply because whatever time it took you to farm it, you have to spend replanting as well.

Yeah I tested water harvest vs. regular wheat with fortune, and fortune yeilds more.

I have an automatic nether wart farm which works fine but I only get like $600-700 using the water but get $900-1100 when using a fortune 3 pic. I never use the water unless I'm extra lazy.

Intellectualist BuilderBuilder ⛰️ Ex-Mayor ⚒️⚒️Personally I prefer water harvest. Get 1k off of water harvest, hire a builder to replant for $350.
You never do any work :p -

+1 , wheat is where I think ECC has always been excelling in and I think the most true farmers are in the wheat. Melons are a rich man's game, and pumpkins are just sprinting along with Speed Potions mindlessly hacking away at them. Wheat farming is solely the base of farming and I see a lot of Builders uninterested in the server because they simply CANNOT make money. Raise the prices of seeds to .40 - .50 cents, RESTORE THE FARMS! MAKE PEOPLE DO ACTUAL WORK AND MAKE IT SO THAT PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY PUT SOMETHING INTO THEIR FARMS GET SOMETHING GOOD OUT OF IT!
