    I can verify that this happens when going into separate worlds, however having potions run out faster otherwise hasnt happened to me.

    This happened to me too. I think it might have something to do with going through a portal. Yesterday I had speedII and it was at 56 seconds left and I walked through a portal and it was gone.

    This is how it has always worked. When you leave a world your potion effects will be cancelled upon entering the new world.
