I would suggest Flow HD for modern builds, and Dokucraft Dwarven Edition for Rustic/Medieval Builds, however on another note, I have come across so many texture packs that say you need this mod or this mod, but all I did was follow the correct steps with no mods and the texture packs worked just fine.

 

I like OCD.

 

Look up the John Smith HD texture pack. Works great for me! Some ores even sparkle ;)

I use purebdcraft by sphax all the time, but recently I have started using r3dcraft. r3dcraft is not finished yet but it looks promising.

 

What I do: R3D Craft 128x Smooth version on top. This version has all but a few blocks done. Then you add R3D Craft 128x under it so that most blocks are smooth, but the non-updated blocks are atleast still hd with the normal R3D. Anywho, use R3DCraft

 

I typically use Sphax PureBD 128x texture pack.

*Edit* - Just searched around and tried several resource packs. Sphax is the only one for me.

 

I'm currently using R3D but I'm going to try Sphax in the very near future.
