Please Read BEFORE Voting.I know that many of you are saying "What about ______" Well I think that if it is a town andrew could possibly save the old (Current) map and transfer towns to those who request it. There are a number of old players who nolonger play and have left Giant 200x200 pits/wastelands/flatland where almost noone can build or work with. I understand that this is why the map was expanded but it still seems crowded. I think that some of the Iconic ECC towns should be saved like the Pixle art galleries and possibly some other inactive/banned towns but because the map is getting crowded and greifed we are running out of options for space. There are so many people that have left the server with 1-9 towns still in place, empty, wating for an owner that may never come back. It is waiting for something that will never come back, I know that this may be controversial but please do consider it @Andrewkm
?

No, this why the map expands. Map resets can mess up a lot of people's lives. Especially the builders and wild residents. All my stuff is in towns and therefore it would be transferred but some people still live in the wild. I was once on a server when thy reset the map. Everybody who was new or did not donate lost EVERYTHING.
To simply put it. No map resets. -
I'm sorry but yes the map may expand, but it is still clogged up in all of the older (and may I say better) areas nearer spawn and in all of the good Biomes.

Correction. Expand is worse than reset, because extra map = extra lag. Expanding allows room for , in example not an actual number, 250 towns to be available. But only half those are active, and it adds lag. If you reset with the option of paying 100k or maybe a $10 donation to get your whole town transfered, it allows maybe 200 towns only, but they can be 80% active towns. Thus, allows more room than an expansion does, really. These are educated guesses again, not facts. However. I am going to make a fool of myself real quick. GIVEN that andrew does the above donation/100k or whatever price he wants to transfer an entire town to the new map, i bet most of you would like this to happen. Although i am 95% sure that andrew is going toexplain me into oblivion or 4% ignore me or 1% randomly agree with me, i am going to make a fool of myself and ask you, @Andrewkm , why. Not just a wont happen, but why it wont happen. Even if the 200+ dollars ive donated to you isnt enough for me to control what happens, i hope it is enough for me to get an explanation of why not. Personally, after being entrapped with towns, i think you should increase zoning laws to 200 blocks or create a new world. It will cost you work, but if you offer a transfer whole town (how do you do this? Shut down aether/nether, run two main worlds,
//copy
//paste
And then you are done) you will make enough money to compensate you for your time.
Even the tallest, most magnificient tree needs pruning, and it is in my opinion time to cut the dead limbs and grow freely again. -
I guess rabidworm has a point. A reset would reduce lag but it would also, I think, persuade many people to leave.
Getting rid of the sky lands and mining world would greatly reduce lag since neither produce unique resources. Yet, both are extremely well liked so it would be resented if they were destroyed. The nether produces netherack, soulsand, glowstone, netherbrick, and various mob drops and nether warts so it cannot be phased out.
In my words, you cannot simply delete a world without one helluva good reason. -
no, the skylands and nether would only be removed for the duration of town-copying and pasting. then they would come back

Last map reset, we had maybe a 1/6th of the towns we have now. Took Andrew what, two-four weeks to copy-paste (transfer) towns? Back then, his workload wasn't too bad. Now? He is constantly busy and doesn't have time to check things. His workload probably tripled or quadrupled since then.
So, if we have six times the amount of towns we had before, that is, what... 12-24 weeks, adding on maybe a week or two for both of those (since his general server workload is more). Andrew does not have time for transferring so many towns.
As well, using so much worldedit would have the server in laggy as hell or complete downtimes for those several weeks. Worldedit, from my knowledge, also causes the world to become laggier and laggier the more you use it. And those who choose to start over? Andrew still has to remake a ton of towns. That alone takes a lot of time. Takes twice the time, actually - people will constantly be overlapping their town markers, causing issues, needing to remark elsewhere, drama and fighting over land and areas... Need I continue?
Map change will never happen, as Andrew said. :b
.....also, we are nowhere NEAR being crowded. Just because "near spawn" is crowded does NOT mean we need a new map. "First come, first serve." Want to be near spawn..? Buy a town from someone. :/ -
I see. Well, my only shred of hope left fr this is this then: either A. Dont. B. Make it a donation. This will cause less town transfer AND more money for the server. Or C. Make a new rank, such as Khobbits bid for superdupermod, (although maybe more professional :p no offence) that can use /region define. Just saying
