I got a town a few days ago and decided "Hey, I should make it medieval and cool!" So I made my house, then 2 more and am working on a larger one, then I read in trade someone ask for a plot. And then someone advertised having plots for sale. Now I'm wondering: Plots or prebuilts?

Or maybe I should do both and divide the two areas by a castle-like wall?

Maybe. But I want the opinions from the players themselves. So what do you think?

Put like five or six prebuilts around the town hall at the very center of the town and then separate that area from the plot area of the town like a cast-system.

I use both, generally it opens up to the non-creative audience :p

I kid though. I like both because plots can add a sense of style, while prebuilts add uniformity. A little of each is a good balance and makes a good town. This style helped my town reach about 25 active players at a time.

Prebuilts are also good for the "older" crowd, and people who just want a home to have it. For example, I am not that creative, so I bought a nice prebuilt in Apollo. Why? Because it was nice and is a good recreational home for me.

Whatever you think suits you best, use. But I recommend both.

Prebuilts are good for themed towns but if you want a bell tower then a flappy bird right next to each other go for it!

I personally would dislike plots because people just make them into large farms

I prefer prebuilds. It keeps the town uniform and keeps it on theme. Some players build cobble homes and giant statues, something I dont like.

I prefer to use both; giving the buyer the choice.

I do a little bit of both in Lancaster. What has surprised me is that pre-built houses haven't sold very well, but much more expensive pre-built condos in skyscrapers have. Maybe that's just the circumstances in my town.
