::Petition ~ Wolvie's Pixel Art Museum To Get Spawn Portal::

Personally, if I were to join the server, and found such a LARGE, awesome place such as Wolvie's town, It would make me want to stay on the server, because I'd be convinced that there are artists on the server. Yes, there may be other pixel art dedicated towns, however, none are like Wolvie's. The size and detail put into his pixel art is astonishing, and would be a great addition to spawn.

We've got such a large amount of towns purely just selling plots. Although this is the entire point of towns, it's nice to see something different once and awhile. Possibly adding this town would open peoples eyes to new ideas of their own to build, other then just the usual.

I'd like to add, I don't think the portal to your town should be directly at the spawn's Hub. Maybe in one of our Blank spaces, you could create something eye catching, like a Pixel art of some sort, leading to the Portal - Just an idea.

 

But the same would count for many other amazing towns, anything that looks amazing and imposing will catch people's attention and make them stay on the server, this is not only the case for Wolvie's museum.

I've seen at least two towns dedicated to 2d pixel art, no partial towns, actual strips of pixelart all over the town, though, this was like a year ago, maybe not as organized as your towns, but it's the same idea.

 

See, it doesn't need to be right at spawn, it can be in a portal that leads to maybe 10 different unique towns.

Yeah...I really don't like siding with kuke. But he is correct. There are many many many (can't stress enough) things on ECC that are awesome. Some not as good as yours, some better.

Creating a portal just to your town seems...well, a bit selfish. If we were to do this, next thing you'd know there would be 50 other guys saying they want their own town portal because they did this and that and they have this.

Even creating a Hub to cool towns would be a bit picky. Due to the giant amount of awesome stuff, people would get offended that they didn't get picked and ect.

I mean, kuke has a good point, and I'm gonna have to stick to it.

 

I somewhat Agree, however that doesnt mean your town should get a special portal at spawn, that nobody else should be able to get.

Possibly propose the following;

Around one of the open area's at spawn, a mini "Portal area" will be built, this area will be known as "Featured Towns" or "Vip Towns", the portals to these can be purchased weekly/monthly, with limited spots (5-10), with the cost at maybe 20-40k a week. This takes money out of our economy constantly, however it will also give new players a view on some of our awesome towns.

That is the only thing I could agree on, I do not feel that ANY town is special enough to have a portal right at spawn. Anyway we have some of tommy_t's amazing builds at spawn/near it aswell, and wallstreet is not just shops, its looks too.

 

Well, nobody will just get there town into spawn, our spawn already has some great builds in it. I do not feel that it is fair that your town could have a portal right at spawn, while lets say my town can't. It would be unfair, and seem as if andrew or wewin were picking favorites. Our spawn has plenty of builds such as; andrewkm's mansion, the area where warp for mining portal is, the aether rocket, all the statues, the portal area for nether, and more.

The other thing I would/may agree with is;

Andrewkm, or wewin start the whole town featuring thing again, and those towns who are featured get a town portal for lets say a few weeks (2 or so). However I am still, and will always be against having town portals right at spawn, especially if it is free, and others do not have the chance to get one aswell.

I personally think that we should just do VIP portals, and maybe handle them like this;

All the staff are able to look around at towns, and have a post where we vote on towns, and maybe once or twice a week we pick out two, whose towns then get a spot at the VIP portal area for lets say 2 weeks, all that andrewkm/wewinagain would have to do is verify the town is right, and place the portal. I personal enjoy this much better than having spawn relocated. Although a new spawn area would be nice/unique.... Either way I feel VIP Portal area's would be amazing/great.

 

1. The assumption comes from the fact you've been focusing on your town the entire time.....

2. "Year and a half" You mean a few weeks each time you come back to the server after either getting banned or leaving out of rage?

3. You -really- shouldn't insult others work when trying to get yourself into an area like spawn.

May I ask you a few things? In all honesty, What makes you think that your pixel-art is deserving of a --SPAWN PORTAL-- when no other users creation in the [History] of Ecocitycraft has ever gotten a portal inside of spawn for their creations?

What gain would giving you more business have to the server itself? Since, as we all know, what you'll be getting out of this is attention and money. I can already see you saying "Well i have a portal in spawn for my work, so your work must not be as good" as fodder for arguments, and that is the absolute last thing anyone wants to see in chat; more gloating.

Is there something besides a bit of aesthetic pleasure which makes it so deserving of a portal at spawn besides the fact that you like your own work that would make it above every other creation in E.C.C history? Above the likes of the great cities and creations of ECC, From Aurora by Dylnordstrom to the massive cities created, what makes your pixel-art better than everyone else's?

Why should we move spawn and all of the towns around it(causing hours, if not days, of headache for Andrew/Wewin, possibly corrupting the world like last time)? "Spawn being expanded" only happened once, a --very-- long time ago, and it was only expanded a few blocks outward.

These are all legitamate questions I'd really like an answer to. In the end, though, you need to remember that this is an [Economy] server, and while we do strive to have nice things, the focus of the server is not nice creations, but the economy. In all honesty, you knew the answer to this thread before you even posted it; It won't happen. If anything like this were to ever happen, it'd be the absolute last thing on Andy's list.

Okay, this may be a not so happy response but, here goes.

Let me first say I love your gallery. I have artwork in your gallery and thus I adore it. I do not however believe that your towns alone should be showcased at spawn. I believe that would be showing extreme favoritism by Andrewkm. I agree that there are towns, yours included, that should be showcased but I do not believe a single person's projects should be it.

Here is my suggestion. Make a section of spawn called something like "ECC Showcase." The portal goes to a room of 10 or so portals. AndrewKM makes a thread for town nominations to be in that portal room. Every month the room can change if a different series of towns are nominated. The towns MUST already have their own portals. The point of this is to showcase the many fantastic things on ECC. I don't just mean Pixel Art but towns that are well made or beautiful. Example: Tommy_T's multi-town palace, Wolvie's Pixel Art, WonderLand. All of these places are fantastic and should be showcased.

 

Why are you using me as an example? I'm a really bad example, I'm a lazy builder who's addicted to the lotto. (Though this time around I managed to evade the lotto)
I'm not the only person who builds things, you're just using me as an example to 1, criticize me (I don't appreciate it) 2, show people the bad side of things.
You're not even trying to acknowledge the fact that there are amazing towns out there, take OuterLocal's towns for example, they're simply towns, but they're fricking amazing, my towns aren't even in the same league as his towns, but I'm sure you've never even bothered to think about towns that don't fit your vision of "crappy/unoriginal towns".
