If your immune to fire, the only way you'll die is if someone drowns you in water, buries you in gravel/sand, or digs a giant hold and then drops you into it
No, not gravel. I have Water+ and gravel just pushes me. No suffocation/drowning. Although when I make giant jungle trees and I stand in the middle, it gets me stuck and I have to tp out.
Well, if your flying and someone builds blocks up to your height, or they put water on you, doesn't that knock you out of flying mode?
Personally, I would prefer that the mining world is NOT pvp. I just like to mine and don't want to hassle with some kid who thinks it would be funny to kill me. You want to kill people, there are other places to do that.
There's 2 simple ways to avoid/prevent this as much as possible: 1. Take screenshots of the person lighting you on fire then report them in the complaints section. After you take a quick screenshot, do /spawn and go through the "water" portal to the main world. 2. This point is very important. Do not... I repeat... DO NOT afk in the mining world ^_^. It is very easy/simple to just do /spawn and go back to the main world quickly and then go back to the mining world once you are back. Although the players who do it really should not be doing it, there is no definite way of stopping them entirely. However, by just following the two methods mentioned above, deaths caused by other players should rarely happen.
I for one am glad that the mining world is not PvP, because if it were I'd not be able to have the fun of mining ^_^ I'd just farm all the time instead. A lot of PvPers don't realize it, but some of us will NEVER PvP simply because we do not think it's fun/enjoy it. Whole servers on which I played have gone PvP before... I stopped playing on them. Minecraft is not a game about PvP (although I respect that people enjoy it). It did not start out that way (you'll remember that multiplayer was a latter addition to minecraft. I play to relax after a day of doing real life stuff, and as such, I want it to be relaxing, not heart-racing. One reason I love mining is because it's so relaxing, as I can't be killed there (water+ pyro+)
Amazing how we are separated by a common language, namely English. There is the US version, and then the rest of the worlds version. Queens English, even in Africa conflicts with the US English as follows:- Examples : Spoiler: The 'ou' debate British US colour color flavour flavor humour humor labour labor neighbour neighbor Spoiler: Words ending with 're' or 'er' British US centre center fibre fiber litre liter theatre theater or theatre Spoiler: The 's' or 'z' arguement... British US apologize or apologise apologize organize or organise organize recognize or recognise recognize These are just a few examples... Bottom line let's respect our respective mother tongue English, and just keep to breaking blocks.
I've seen a lot of these variations written both ways. I personally use a lot of them interchangeably, especially "colour/color" and auto-correct programs will say "colour" is wrong. One time I asked one of my English professors the correct policy regarding a lot of these words and he said "It depends." Like you've pointed out, using one version over the other expresses cultural points that can be extremely powerful, yet subtle tools. Language is a funny thing sometimes!
I'd like a mining world in which there is no PVP but death-traps are permitted. That would force our murderers to be more creative. I want to see more cactus lined death-shafts, anvil's supported on signs planted on a gold ore and other fun creative ways for people to infuriate each-other. Fear, sadness and rage are great emotions that shouldn't be left out of any game. Settlers of Catan would be lame if I didn't want to flip the table every third game.
