Original Owner Suggestion

I'd understand and support a suggestion to cut the costs. But not abolish them altogether.

 

I have a suggestion / possible amendment to Mine's original idea (actually, loosely based on a reply he made)

What if, since Tycoons get a "claim a town from a 6+ month missing original owner" benefit, you could trade that benefit in for a free Town Transfer (instead of 250k) with someone that is not missing for 6+ months? You would still have to fill out the form and get the Original Owner to approve it. The money has already left the economy for buying Tycoon and the "new owner" gets a town they already own? It would just be changing the "Original Owner" name on the town that they've worked / paid for from someone else.

Obviously, it would only work once per rank (Tycoon, Eco+), just Town Claims are now.

*It would strengthen towns that are already existing.
*It would allow someone to continue in a space they have already put time / money into.
*It would only work between someone that is the New Owner and the Original Owner (whoever is listed as Original Owner, that is)

Just throwing an idea out that might work for both sides of the issue...

 

You can already use town claims like this.

 

I thought Town Claims required the Original Owner to be offline for 6+ months?

My idea is to use the Town Claim one would get with Tycoon (or higher) as a "coupon" for a Town Transfer (Original Owner still online)

 

Clause 5 - Town Claims

• With the addition of the Town Claiming feature for Tycoons+, town transfers are possible by means of attaining a rank and claiming it under any of the following criteria:
  • The owners of the town are offline for a minimum of 6 months.
  • The owners of the town are permanently banned from the server, and a period of 7 days has passed since the ban was issued.
  • The owners of the town have signed and consented to the sale/transfer of a town officially, to be completed in full via the Town Claim application.

Town claims were added before town transfers, and you can use them like them.

 

I have to agree with mine on this one, as someone planning on expanding my town before getting President.

 

Going back to a point that you made. You stated that you paid 85k for the town - If you had have bought this town completely yourself it would have cost 180k-400k. This means that you made a saving somewhere in the region of 95-315k. That HUGE saving = not being the Original Owner.

The principle of being original owner of a town is nothing new - It wasn't sprung on players out of nowhere. It has been clearly expressed forever, so either you ignored this when you bought a resident Mayor for the town, or you made the decision that the saving on applying for it yourself was worth not being original owner.

I would love to be able to apply for town features of towns i have bought.
I understand about the Original Owner thing but I also do believe that this would increase the town market and would also help reuse towns.

I dont have any free towns on my Original Owner Towns, but i did purchase a town which has a original owner of now a banned user, I would love to be able to continue with my idea of a builder town but would be able to if i cannot place a portal and warp,

I dont see why we cant apply for things such as this.
