    The Builder Building is finished (on the outside at least). 16 apartments, a resource hub, a welcome/tutorial center, three shops on the ground floor (already claimed), and all that we need to make central Lancaster welcoming to new players again. The catch: Builders get an apartment they can lock, but not perms to our over-endowed gold mine of a downtown. They will get perms to the town farm, though. This is a giant experiment in making a wealthy town accessible for Builders without risking what we've built. The building is not designed to make much money on its own -- in fact, as a business, I expect it to consistently lose me money -- but I'm hoping to wake the old central town back up with some new energy, now that so many of our best players have founded towns of their own.

    Check it out! You should have no trouble finding it, due to its immense size and my lack of subtlety in signage.

    I have a question. I'd like to buy a property in Lancaster, but I'm not sure how I should pay. I currently have the money, and am ready to pay immediately. Should I simply pay the amount on the sign directly to @jmichael214 even if he's not online, and then just post on this thread? Or do I have to talk to him in person before making the transaction?

    Thanks in advance to anyone who answers.


    Edit: I now realize (and recall) that I cannot, in fact, buy a plot of land at the Builder rank in this town. You have my apologies for asking such silly questions without realizing this. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll ever make it to Resident before the plot I intended to buy is taken, which is a shame, as it is a nice plot. I suppose I'll just have to wait until I'm a Resident, and then buy a different plot, assuming the one I'm going for will be taken.

    However, I do still intend on buying a plot in this town; it's quite nice and professionally done. Perhaps you'll see me around sooner or later.

    @Tactical_Wizard, hi!

    Your timing is impeccable. We don't offer plots to Builders any more, due to a few bad apples, but what we do offer is apartments in a dedicated "Builder Building," which comes with a resource center and with perms to our farm town, which is a totally separate 100x100x4 seven-crop and tree farm town that we bought and built because our old town farm caused too much lag. The idea being that anyone who wants to join our town can make Resident relatively quickly by using the farm either a. to save up the money, or b. to get the money to buy perms to a really big farm.

    Plus, Lancaster actually has five towns (that I own) adjacent to one another, and another eight towns adjacent to that, owned by various other Mayors. Even if the plot you like is taken later on, other plots open up when players go inactive or trade in a small plot for a bigger one.

    I'm usually on in the evenings EST, so if this sounds good, look me up then!

    Thanks for the information, Mayor @jmichael214. Although I wasn't initially keen on the idea of getting a room in the Builder Building since I wanted to start my own farm, I had completely forgotten that I would have access to the town farm. It seems that you've talked me into buying a room.

    This brings up another question. Do I have to see you online in order to get a room and make the payment? How exactly do I get a room?

    @Tactical_Wizard -- yes, you'll need to see me in-game until I get a system set up. You'll literally be the first resident of the building. I should be on by 6:00 p.m. EST and will likely be on for the rest of the evening, because I despise New Year's Eve.

    Indeed. I was surprised myself when I first read that every room in the whole building was vacant the first time I entered. I then learned that it was only finished on Monday. It's a shame I didn't come on before Monday, for then I would simply be able to buy the property without first becoming a Resident. Anyway, I understand why that rule's been changed and I'm currently eagerly working toward Resident so that I may buy a plot. Meanwhile, I'll be living in the Builder Building if I can meet up with Mayor @jmichael214 tonight.

    Well, Its has been 1 great year for lancaster as I've seen. 1 extra town, 50+ residents and so much more. Ill never forget the day i was a new little biulder and mike invited me to join his town. :) Best day ever.
