Before you lock this, no, I'm not discussing specific bans.
I'm curious to why you won't unban old banned players who don't have any data about their ban. For "security reasons".
Obviously, if the player in mind had committed a gigantic horrible thing, such as hacking or exploits, then all the players on at the time would remember it.
And if the player had only committed a string of scams or grief or something, then after a year, and no data recorded, shouldn't they be given a second chance? Obviously you will log all their future data, and if they cause problems, then they'll never get unbanned again because you'll have their data.
So like I said, I'm curious about this method.

I think somehow im not sure we should get a place to keep track of these files. Like after the certain time they get copied and put onto a secret website for skylexia and GAs so they can keep track and has a password that is different for every other GA so the old ones do not abuse

It's not that, it's just that way way back at the start of ECC if you logged in and then spammed and got banned or something, there is no record of it. There were no forums back then. So if you slipped up and griefed, there is no record of it.
At the start of ECC, they didn't keep records. Nowadays they keep records on EVERYTHING and ANYTHING. -
Certain old players are known for certain things, following those past infractions gives a likely ban reason

If there's no record of the ban and no record of anything he's done. Then we have NO way of verifying what he got banned for. We can't tell if someone got banned for foul language/spamming or something like advertising, fastbreak or Xray when there's no record available.
This is why we don't unban those people. -
Every time I see "We don't unban for xray." I just want to post "Liar." :mad: But I am guessing that wouldn't be seen as too friendly, so I just say it in my head. :p
I understand that you don't want everyone msg'ing andrew/sky regarding their bans, but it seems like the current players have an "advantage" because they know the system. I think the wording that the mods are using now is causing confusion for the current players, and is misleading for the past players.
I think it would be clearer if instead of saying "We don't ban for xray, and we don't know if you xrayed", what should be said is more along the lines of "We don't usually unban perma-banned players and we can't tell if you were perma-banned as your files are to old to retrieve." -

Like I said in my original post, it's been ages and ages, why shouldn't they get a second chance? You'll track every new file carefully, and they won't be allowed to get away again. And they'll never be able to pull the same trick twice since you'll have all their files the second time.

Advertising and sometimes fastbreak, everyone gets unbanned if they make an appeal. They aren't exactly effort full appeals either.
To be back on the real topic, I'm curious to. I don't see why they can't be given a second chance after so long. -

Still, I'd like to hear exactly the why and why not of the whole thing.
