Finally worked my way to the forums. I asked tirelessly in game for help but no one responded so I don't think anyone heard me. I'm very new to minecraft and this server. I had some questions but don't know where to go to for answers.
Here's my questions:
1. I'd like to collect things and build things. I understand the concept of the protected chests. I protected one and now all my stuff is safe in there? What if someone just builds all around it and effectively doesn't allow me to access my chest or find it again, can this happen?
2. From what I understood based on what I read this server has towns which contain areas that are exclusive to their owners? From what I understand only the owners can do things in these areas, build destroy etc. Is that true? Are my possessions safe there? Do I need to lock the chests in this area too?
3. If I use the warps in the spawn, like the mining area, and mine things there, can I take them with me when I leave? Can I teleport back to my house and store them and go mine more? I'm just unclear on how it all works.
4. How can I become a member of one of these towns?
5. How can I start selling things for money so I can buy other things?
6. Earlier I mined some diamond blocks and redstone blocks and got neither.
Please if you have any information to help me it's greatly appreciated. Even if you could link me to tutorials that answer my questions I would be grateful.

1. If you protect a chest or any other object, other players cannot break or open it. They can't block it with blocks either because that would be against the rules, so you would be able to make a complaint.
2. The town plugin we use is WorldGuard, i believe. Owners can add other owners and members to towns. In town only members and owners can destroy or place blocks, however players can still access unlocked chests in towns, so i suggest you lock them.
3. You can warp to the mining area and other warps, go through the portal, and go back to your sethome using /sethome and then /home to get their. They you can do /warp mining and start mining in another area.
4. You can usually ask in trade chat /ch tr and someone will pm you quite quickly.
5. You can either do /warp market and sell to the player market, or the /sell command.

Sorry to hear that nobody gave you help ingame - it's sad to see so many people unwilling to help a new player. Luckily, @Naereniv11 came to the rescue. I hope you do well on ECC, and I also hope that we will have a lot more Naerenivs in the future. :D
