So if your reading this thread you'll probably be aware of the drama that unfolded on the server a few hours ago. I figured some people would be interested in the details so thought it would be a good idea to make a post, rather than have people spamming ingame chat with questions.

Somebody set up us the bomb.

At around 2pm CDT, we were the host for the Nodus griefing team one of the many Minecraft griefing teams that plague the Minecraft world. While I wasn't on the server at the time, from what I've been told they played and joked around with the online mods for a little while, played with a few worldedit commands and caused a bit of server lag.

I can't give you the details of who's houses they destroyed, but from what I could tell from the live map, they even griefed my statue! No respect!

Nodus often posts videos of servers they grief, so I'll be watching the youtube channel in anticipation. I've had a grudge against the new spawn, since andrewkm deleted my old one :cry:

The players who were involved in this were: ImJustPro, Scetch, Yokel, MarkFortune4

We get signal
Thanks go to everyone who helped report issues to staff, and helped to get the admin team on the scene to fix this. Within a short period of time, the staff was on scene to deal with this issue.

Main screen turn on
The server itself wasn't compromised so you don't have to worry about changing passwords or your contact details being leaked. The attack was targeted to at the Minecraft login system, so there was no leaked information on our end.

I should remind players at this point to be wary of where you reuse your passwords, and where you type them in. You should never type your real password into a hacked or hacking client, or use your Minecraft password to register on fansites or forums. It is better to be paranoid then allow people to find out your password.

What happens now...

The result of this was that we had to take the server down, and do a few hours rollback. We decided it was better to be safe and roll everything back than just rollback spawn and the obviously effected regions.
So everything anyone did within the last 8 hours has been reverted.

To clarify what that means:

• If you mined or collected items, they will be back where you found them.
• If you sold some items to the store, they will be still where you found/stored them.
• If you paid anyone ingame, or got paid by anyone, you might need to collect/send that money again.
• Any levels you got in mcmmo will be lost.
• All our base still belongs to us.

No complaints please ;)

Since everyone was effected the same, we won't be giving people 'back' any experience or money they gained during the 8 hours. Think of it as if we simply rolled the clock back 8 hours. Everything you did before the rollback you can do again. It would be mean for us to treat you differently to everyone else, don't you think?

Apparently glooble didn't get my reference there, my headers are a parody of/reference to zero wing.

 

They didn't get OP, they did manage to get more permissions than supermods though.
