Tauron’s Summer Festival
By @OnSceneReporter, Chief Editor
A celebration is kicking the season off in the Rising Spawn town of Tauron. Soon, spotlights of the Zodiac nation will shine on tents, bonfires, and streamers as festivities gear up in the quaint city.
The Tauron Museum is slated to open soon, commemorating Tauron’s agricultural heritage, and the civil war that changed the course of the colony. Read more about Tauron’s history in the Zodiac archives (Read more).
Zodiac nation President @Joliver1998 is excited about the festivities.
“This is going to be a great chance for people to get to know one another, and appreciate the lore and history of one of the Zodiac’s most cherished towns. We’ve worked extremely hard this past year to piece together a fantastic exhibit in our newly constructed museum.”
- Joliver1998, President of the Zodiac Nation
Festivities are planned to begin on the summer solstice on June 21st.
Gone Fishing!
By @Laxcd11, Correspondent
In a May 5th announcement, andrewkm introduced ECC to the latest netherstar tool, the Star Rod. Most speculate that the star rod was introduced to help make fishing a profitable and competitive enterprise. Some of the newest Star Rod owners are:
A list of star tools is being accumulated by @Dccciz here.

- Konan200x
- KMaxwell

- Stolio

- Starleana
Andrew happened to drop one of these rods the first day they were released. The lucky recipient was @starx_evo. News of the Main World caught up with him to discuss his lucky catch:
Q: What are the fishing rods enchantments?
A: Unb 3 Luck 5 Lure 8
Q: How did you receive this fishing rod?
A: Andrew dropped it at Rising spawn, and I happened to catch it.
Q:How much money have you made from your star rod?
A:Not too sure, I don't really fish on MC, all the fish I caught are stored.
Q: Would you recommend buying this item to others?
A: If you're an avid fishermen yes. If drops are added back into fishing it'll be one of the best star tools I think. Plus exp from fishing is nice.
Q: Can you describe what its like to use it? ie: How many catches per minute do you get? Do you get rarer fish more often?
A: Boring lol. Sometimes fish are back to back, usually no longer than 8 seconds or so. As for rarer fish, I do catch alot of clown and pufferfish.
Q: Do you fish in a natural lake or on a fishing table?
A: Fishing table/tower.
All in all, the response to the new star tool has been favorable, and seems to be making the market a more dynamic place.
Minewars!
By @nicoviacava1210, Journalist
Hello ECC! Today we are going to talk about Minewars. This event is like the popular TV show Storage Wars, but in Minecraft!
Minewars consists of a number of lockers with unknown contents. Players bid for lockers and the one with the highest bid gets the locker. In Minewars, the lockers are filled with awesome and wild things!
Minewars is primarily organized and hosted by @welikeike22. Over time Minewars has grew more popular and attracted tons of ECC’ers. The Minewars staff team works hard to provide a huge event which allows to have a fun time. It also unites all together for something in which we can interact with other people.
Something interesting are the items in the lockers. Some of them may have low value but others have incredible value like unobtainable blocks, precious gems and way more!
In the end, Minewars is a very popular and big event that I’m sure will keep growing over time and giving us more fun moments in our ECC time. We will all be waiting for it! A tip for Minewars is to start saving money some time before the event so you can have more possibilities of winning a locker. Thanks for reading and see you next time!
Spotlight: Gem Towns
By @Joliver1998, Correspondent
A new trend is sweeping across EcoCityCraft! In recent months, several users have been terraforming the surface of entire towns! With what you may ask? Depends on who is leading the project...
Near Rising Spawn is the town of SarialleSayth. @Skylexia, self anointed sovereign of redstone, is covering a 200x200 area with Redstone blocks! Skylexia has said that the town is “around 20%-25% done with about 50% more blocks waiting for [her] to have enough time to place them.” Upon the release of Rising, Skylexia was looking for a new way to display her ridiculous amount of redstone blocks. Her private Legacy residence of Averlight was filled to the brim. She decided to show off the massive amount of redstone she has collected while using the new landscape generation of Rising. In the future, a castle is planned along the border between SarialleSayth and Zardgyer’s town of Rocketeer. In the mean time, Skylexia is also working towards both the EcoLegend rank and many different forum medals.
In another part of EcoCityCraft, EcoLeader @eben48 had been looking to make a unique vault, but instead took this new trend to a whole new level! He is working on 6 towns to be resurfaced, each with a different block type! LapisLand, RedstoneRock, CoalCorner, and QuartzQuarry have already been covered with their respective ores.
“They are better described as one giant mass of expensive, instead of different towns. Up next is gold which will be covering a mountainous region and will be by far the most expensive, and a true testament to my increasing lack of sanity…”
- Eben48
Eben has projected the total cost to be worth around twelve-million ECD. The EcoLeader has also pondered installing a city underneath the terrain. “[It] should be outstandingly epic.”
Several other users have also decided to start similar projects. @Stolio and @zardgyer are making towns covered with quartz and coal blocks respectively. They are two new names on a list of trend-setters that grows day by day.
I have had my own personal experience with this new terraforming style. I recently started changing the top layer of my town, Glass. Areas that were once sand are now replaced with yellow stained glass; rivers and ponds are being covered with blue glass - eventualling turning a landscape of natural wonder into a modern marvel. Under the glass is a layer of glowstone illuminating the town at night.
As I got started with my own, it was a little difficult to place the correct block in the correct spot. A personal tip would be to outline a flat area with the choice block, and then go back and change it all quickly!
