A melon sword is a term used exclusively on ECC. It is an efficiency 5, silk touch diamond sword. Usually, it includes unbreaking 3. If it doesn't come with unbreaking 3, you can always add it. When someone is selling a "melon sword", it means they are selling a diamond sword with at least efficiency 5 and silk touch. The reason it is called a melon sword is because it is the fastest tool to destroy melons.

If you haven't noticed, our server is big on farming. :p

 

A melon sword is an Efficiency 5 Silk 1 Diamond sword that is worth 1000 nstars. You can buy it in the nether star shop for 1000 nstars or from players who already own one. They currently are worth between 250-275k from players. The sword cuts through melons like butter and is still very profitable. You can make about 17k per hour with it.

googoo, I suggest you invest in an enchanted pick ASAP, preferably with Fortune and Efficiency and hopefully with Unbreaking. It makes mining go a lot quicker. An alternative would be silk touch in which case you can sell ore blocks to vendor signs at the spawn shops in the trading area. (Go shop 21!!! _TANSTAAFL )
Or Farming wheat, I made my initial Resident cash farming many levels of wheat on a 15x15 plot.
