While there is no "official" stairway that I could find, I have completed a set of steps to y11 and a tunnel all the way to -2500 if you simply turn around at mining spawn and head north at -27. I have also completed a set of steps to y11 and have begun construction of a tunnel heading south (straight ahead from the mining spawn). Have fun and enjoy the easier access to the more remote areas of the mining world.
Update: The east tunnel at -16 (turn left leaving the mining spawn) is complete at y11 to 2500! Enjoy! And make sure to tell our newest players as this makes it easier for them to get to remote areas of the mining world.
Thanks Sims - however, I do not really consider this work. I like to mine and enjoy knowing I can help out our newest players by giving them easier access to some free ores and remote areas of the map.
For the next update, I'd suggest going down to Y:14, that's the level where I mine and there's much less risk of running into lava than at Y:11, no noticeable drop in the goodies, either.
It's that time of the month again! I've dug a new Stairway to Y11, which also has short tunnels I started on y14 as suggested Located straight to the right of mining spawn, with a lovely 'mine' sign above! Enjoy the goodies lovelies <3
Update: A special thank you to Sims for creating such an awesome stairway in the mining world. I have created tunnels in all four directions that run to the edge of the mining world that start at the bottom of the stairway. They are at y:11 as I completely forgot the suggestion by @jbertig - perhaps someone else would care to create tunnels at level y:14. Enjoy the mining!
Diamonds begin spawning at Y:17, so if you have a tunnel at 14 and 11, you maximize your ore gathering potential, specifically diamonds
March Reset update: A new tunnel has been created when entering the mining world from spawn. Simply turn and head north. The tunnel heads north at x:0 y:11 and runs until z: -2500. There is not a fancy stairway like the staff normally create, just a simple set of stairs. I will update again when more tunnels are completed. Enjoy the exposed ores!
Update: All four tunnels are now created - one in each direction from the mining warp. They are located at y:11 and :0. Enjoy the easier access to the edge of the mining world and the exposed ores.
@AdmiralD I feel awful, I didn't get a notification for this thread so I didn't realise you'd already made a stairway! Well, I was stairing (pun intended) at mining world and realised I'd forgotten to do this, so I went ahead and created a stairway with the usual 'Mine' Sign above it to the left (south) of the mining world portal. Thank you so much admiral for helping keep this going <3 I'll try and get a path made to the stairway also, that's within the spawn area ( @314 ) Have fun with the exposed ores
My dear Sims, you have nothing to apologize for. It is always awesome to see your main stairway and signage! I believe that all players should be able to find the tunnels from there!
