The joy of serving a friendly community! The goal to Staff isn't for "fame" or "fortune", it's to serve the community because you wish to help further it. I hope that gives good insight to your question
If you're implying in-game benefits, no we don't. Now getting that family feel from the team, working as a team and feeling like we share a common purpose, that is a bonus. I also love serving the community, I like help others in a way no one can do and I enjoy all the cool work I get to do as a staff member. Its very rewarding to me. I'm sure I'm not the only one. I log on every day looking forward to seeing my fellow staff and working to keep this server a good place.
Cheese is good? This is a question directed to anyone who has ever been a member of staff, I was wondering what it is like having your chat spammed with the local of every worlds spawn.
I recall answering in the wrong local chat a time or two until I got used to the chat coding for the various spawn locals... it's a great addition for the staff team, as it can free up members of staff to wander about the server rather than being stuck in one place.
I don't really see the difference between macros and local chats spamming up my screen, except for the fact that one of them often needs help. (It's only really fun when a macro gets out of control and breaks my whole chat.)
@allstaff What's the weirdest pickle you've gotten into as a mod? @allstaff Not related to ECC, what's one talent (not superpower) you wish you had irl that you don't? @allstaff Would you rather have to be stuck on ECC 24/7 (basic needs provided) without being able to talk to others IRL until the day ECC shuts down, or never be able to use a computer for the next 30 years?
jk. I don't really understand the question. The ability to understand what I did in my own Delphi code more than one week ago. *Makes a list* ECC... programming... annoying @JamieSinn by finding bugs that are almost impossible to reproduce... I guess answer a).
@allstaff What's the weirdest pickle you've gotten into as a mod? Watching two trolls troll each other in an empty local chat, and deciding whether or not to intervene. LOL @allstaff Not related to ECC, what's one talent (not superpower) you wish you had irl that you don't? Lead climbing. Aww yiss. @allstaff Would you rather have to be stuck on ECC 24/7 (basic needs provided) without being able to talk to others IRL until the day ECC shuts down, or never be able to use a computer for the next 30 years? No computer honestly. Way more variety IRL than in ECC if I'm going to be stuck on it THAT long. @Original_Jackson are you serious -.- thats flamewar bait if I've ever seen it, I'm going to ask you to remove it yourself before I just do it myself. Honestly man.
1. A sibling squabble in local chat, I go to help resolve it and about halfway through I realize the argument they are having is not even ecc related, they are just squabbling about it on ECC. I just awkwardly fade into the background and keep an eye on it to make sure no one starts swearing. 2. Talent? That's a hard one, I am quite happy with my array of talents, I don't think I'd want another one. 3. Stuck on ECC. I love computer too much to go without it. As a person who already averages 7 hours a day throughout her week, its not too much of a stretch.
