Agreed! Natural is way better than making it look expensive by placing heaps of diamond blocks.

We used to have a tower, but it was taken down so that there would be room for the portal chamber above spawn. And having a tower beneath that wouldn't really look good, in my opinion. Personally, I like the subtle, park-like look spawn has. It's simple and functional, with the buildings like the snipe chest, block store, wizard hats and so forth, and it's easy to get everywhere.

 

Better looking > expensive looking.

I think spawn would look horrible with expensive blocks everywhere.

 

I'm all for the natural feel of the spawn. Just take a look at my town and you will see that, the most expensive blocks I tend to use on occasion would be obsidian or glowstone. I'm not completely against using a little bit of expensive ore, but wool does the job just fine. Not to mention, like someone else already pointed out, all of the other servers I have seen have these really cheesy looking spawns just because they didn't want to use wood, grass, wool, or other "cheap" blocks. So -1 from me, I don't think making the spawn more expensive looking would reflect this server well.

Edit: Also I wouldn't mind seeing spawn improved or changed, but adding more expensive looking blocks instead of wool and grass is not the way to go, imo.

 

The eco in ecocitycraft stands for economy.

I currently think the spawn is adequate, maybe a few shake ups.

 

+1 I think ecc needs a new spawn it's I little boring. Not ALL new just some new stuff
