I came in 2012 with a different forum account (can't find it. Maybe it got erased?) and had to leave ECC due to computer problems with multiplayer. I decided to finally come back in March, and made a new forum account in April.

OK, the following is my opinion, it may or may not be yours. But here it is.
In terms of functionality, I definitely agree that the old spawn was more functional. However, it was a bit crowded for a server which regularly saw hundreds upon hundreds online at once. For that reason, making the spawn larger and more expansive was good for ECC. Nowadays, there are far less people online; 100 is actually rare during weekdays throughout the school year. That, to me, does not entail a smaller spawn, since ECC is still a large server. However, the lack of growth following the events of August and September shows that ECC has been unable to regain its losses in terms of number of users. Functionality may be to blame for that, and this can be easily solved. In my opinion, the tutorial level should be overhauled to do so. If we placed the tutorial signs directly in front of new users, rather than having them travel to see them, they would more easily learn the basic rules and commands of the server. These signs would tell users the basics about ECC and each world before directing them to spawn. This would avoid all the questioning by new users that has dogged this server for- well, my entire time on here. Perhaps even more importantly, I would replace all the large, imposing portals with commands, and move them to empty spaces where they can fit better. I would also utilize a larger swath of the area the spawn is given; rather than have the main floor be circular, it can encompass a square area where the statues are not present. This could even be at the same level as the statues and the towns which it borders. Of course, all of this could be solved by a new hub. Another thing I would do is make the legacy spawn the old (2011-14) spawn. This has been brought up before, and can help users distinguish which world they are in.

The current spawn is too big, in my opinion. It's only purpose is for the looks, and it has no potential, really. The old spawn was much more fun and served its purpose, and, I don't understand why it was even removed in the first place. Additionally, there would be much more people at spawn because it was more fun to hang out at and was very open and well layed out. I think that we should attempt to rebuild the spawn we had before we got the new ones (the latest one with the big portals and other upgrades). I feel like this would really benefit the server and newer players.
I don't really understand why some of the things we used to have were removed in the first place; they were much more fun.

I personally think that the spawn is horrible and for three different reasons:
1) It looks like a stereotypical mini-game server spawn
2) It doesn't show the servers creativity/fun
3) It is on different levels and not many people can fly
But, I disagree with the statement that it is hard to navigate. I like how simple it is.
Overall I believe that the spawn Needs to be changed, so it's a:

For a new spawn, I'd actually like it to be a little city or something, with houses for the little areas like SG and skyscrapers for portal warps and a flat park in the center, what do you guys think? :)
