Although the numbers are being doubled for the Gold & Diamond medal those numbers seem a lot more odd, if anything they should have been 500k - 1,000,000.

Overall I think new medals mean new goals to strive therefore I am behind the new medals I just feel like the numbers need tweaking.

 

I agree, I believe the numbers should be tweaked a little. Maybe something like this:
Wood- 50k
Stone 100k
Iron- 250k
Gold- 500k
Diamond: 1m

Since the first two swords are kind of ugly for a "medal", I think it's fair to lower the amount needed for them. I have mixed feelings about the diamond medal considering it now takes 4x as many points to get. I think its cool that whenever the first few get it it will be really rare, but I feel a little bit bad for the players that have been working for diamond for a while and were really close. Also, of the players that have over 500k sg points, there are really only 3 active players that I can see getting this medal. I know that there are some players that will be striving for these "new" medals but I feel that there are more players that play sg purely for the medals that will no longer be fighting for the old diamond medal as it is now only an old iron sword they already had before. I'm still not exactly sure what to say to this.

 

In the next year, they'll probably only be two users that have the diamond SG medal.(Back and 3point obviously) Seems pretty pointless because only a select few will have that many points. How about we lower it to 750,000 points?

 

Completely agree with these numbers.

I've been working for months, and have just been slightly close to the iron, and now its been pushed further away from me, I think that we should be given a warning, say, 30 days, to get as many sg points as we can, then put these new changes into place.

TL;DR: Let us have 30 days to gain as many points as we can, and apply for medals, then implement these new medals with their points.

 

Personally, the current numbers seem rather odd. I really like the numbers that @dumdum71 proposed. It makes it seem more clean and professional.

I think it looks tidier. The last number being more "whole" (1 million) than the rest. Either that, or make them harder to obtain:
Wood- 100k
Stone 250k
Iron- 500k
Gold- 1m
Diamond: 1.5m

 

I think people did not care about the previous numbers due to there only being 3 medals. Now that there are 5, it seems rather odd ending at 1.2m, it's more of the "whole" numbers scenario.

 

No, that was not the motivation. The idea was that the later medals would be more "whole" like stated above. Also, I don't think that a wood sword should be equal to the old iron sword. Earlier you asked how it was different than adding ranks. Well, the difference is that tycoon wasn't taken away from players and adding two ranks between president and tycoon and giving the earlier tycoons a lesser rank. Instead, players got to keep their current rank and two ranks were added after ecoleader. In the medal case, there aren't any new goals that people are working for. They are simply working for the same goal they had already achieved 6 months ago and replacing their current medals that they had worked for for uglier medals. I'd like to make a whole new suggestion that doesn't change the motive that you said you had behind the medals, which was to give players a new goal to reach.

75000 points- Iron Sword
150000 points- Gold Sword
300000 points- Diamond Sword
500000 points- Lapis or redstone sword (not sure which looks better)
1000000 points- Emerald sword

The thing is, I don't think anyone wants a wood sword medal. I feel like changing the nice looking iron sword to an ugly wood sword would push people away from working towards the 75000 points more than it would push the few amount of players that have a chance of getting to 1m+ points towards the diamond sword. My suggestion keeps people from losing any of their current nice looking medals as well as adding something unique to aim for.

Oh, for those of you wondering what I mean by the lapis/redstone/emerald sword, no they do not exist, but people have made pictures of them that look nice and would be easy change into the medal image. I have to say so far I agree entirely with @dumdum71's assessment of the situation.

Though perhaps instead of more swords, add 3 more 'merit' medals. Make it look like a ribbon with a little sword hanging off of it. Add 3 (as we really do seem to like sets of three, a white ribbon, a red ribbon, and a blue ribbon all with diamond swords hanging from them), at 600k, 1.2m, and 2.4m points. Yes, 2.4 million points seems like a goal terribly far away, however, so did 300k when we added that.

 

Now I have ugly medals :( lol

 

I like this as well except, the numbers are still a bit odd. Maybe go 500k, 1m, and 2m. Actually, anything that won't take away something several people have worked for and replace it with something ugly is more than fine with me.
