Although I do agree that spawn could be epicer it does not "suck" as much as you say it is. Also, if we were to build a new spawn the server would most likely be down for multiple days unless we can world edit it in some how. All things considered, the current spawn fulfills our needs and when a new spawn is needed, it will be built accordingly.

 

After reading this I noticed you said server spawn "Sucks" twice, and the SuperMods and GameAdmins "Suck" at building once. I do not think that was kind of rude, but to my point, I do think we need a new spawn, though the current once is not bad. I don't think we should have the actual rank "Architect" but maybe andrew chooses some people through an application, to work on a new spawn in a separate world.

 

Shotgun, our spawn is not made to be some huge amazing build like all other servers. We want to be different, unique if you may. Our spawn is meant to provide info, and not be there just for looks. I feel that our current spawn is perfect, it has everything it needs/we need.

Also I would like to state that some of the servers best builders are/have been with the staff team.

Hey, blowtube123 here! I have recently noticed some major reconsiderations ECC needs to take. For example spawn. Spawn is the first thing people see on our server. Spawn needs to reflect everything that ECC is about. Spawn Town Portals have only a few spots left. Spawn needs a renovation. Spawn is crowded....... Spawn has quite a few imperfections. Many may say "Nothing is perfect" and you are completely correct, but I am positive almost anything can be better. I believe the different areas at ECC's spawn seem crowded. Everything is crammed. They made the height limit 256 for a reason! Recently I have looked on other top servers to see what their spawns look like... By no means does the whole ECC server compare to them! ECC is so much better, but their spawns are quite amazing! Great architecture and so futuristic. Also i noticed something! They mostly have created their own building teams that all work together to make the perfect places like spawn! As of this, I have quite a few suggestions...​

Actual Suggestions! (Remember 80% of ECC users use default as their Texture Pack!)​

• Spawn EcoCityCraft Sign isn't looking so great. Glowstone on top of wool usually does not ever look good. Possibly Lamps?
• The height limit is 256 for a reason! Make multiple layers?
• New Portal Area. Not many portals are left...Possibly more than 5 Levels or bigger levels?

The info portals I think will be all much better in the tutorial portal. Anyways, to me spawn doesn't look too bad/ But some elevated buildings arent bad.

 

I would't say spawn nor the staff who built it suck. If you have seen some of their towns, they look really great. ECC I'd say is going for a more simplistic look. I don't think another rank is necessary since we already have aether for players who wish to build on their own. However if Andrew ever does wish to have something built perhaps he can open up new apps providing a temporary title such as Architect until the object is finished building. I don't mind how spawn was built as to me it seems pretty self explanatory which is useful for some new members who join.

 

Because it might be the way Andrew wants it. It's more builder-friendly than anything. If Andrew wasn't happy with it,do you think he'd have it look that way?

 

I agreed that every month or so spawn should be changed. For new people it might be harder. This would be nice to see it change often. Somethings might need to stay where they are thought.

 

I agree, we need a better looking spawn. The best way to do this would be to start from scratch and come up with a completely new concept. I don't believe we need a rank for this on the other hand. The team who builds spawn should be picked purely based upon design and building skills.

It would be possible to worldedit in a new spawn, even if it was built on another server or in single player. The current spawn does sort of work, but there is always room from improvement, in the case of our spawn, a lot of improvement.

Yes, this isn't a creative mode server, doesn't mean we can't have a creative and good looking spawn.

The spawn doesn't have to be a huge super amazing build, you can still have a good looking build, that is practical, and that isn't a huge building. What is to say we shouldn't have a huge super amazing spawn build?, we afterall are a huge server, with a large player base. A new spawn design could incorporate plenty o information, and in a more builder friendly way.

I agree, spawn is cluted, mainly because stuff has been added in after it was originally built. A new spawn would give an opportunity to organise spawn better.

When designing a spawn it's important to keep in mind what a player will see when they first spawn. When you first spawn on ECC you are surrounded by 7 portals, hunger games signs, build warps and about 10 signs. This isn't really builder friendly. A builder has no idea what to do when they first spawn, and they have so many options that it just becomes confusing.
Re-designing and re-building spawn would allow it to be better organise, builder friendly, and better looking.

I think every month would be a little too often, maybe slight changes every few months.

As a whole, building a new spawn would be a good thing for the server. It will be hard saying goodbye to the old spawn at first, but once it's built I think it would be much appreciated.
