Hi guys, I logged into your server not too long ago and got insanely lost. I mentioned as much but then got teleported to basically a hole in the ground? It's also been ages since I've played Minecraft so I'm pretty disorientated getting back into it all. x)
Anyway, I don't know if the moderators were ignoring me or just not seeing my cries for assistance but I am going to assume the latter for the time being.
I am definitely interested in the concept of a strong economic server but I am not sure where to begin or how I should go about asserting myself within the server's natural structure. If I could be given some council and guidance that would sure be great.
Thank you. :3

Hello kelliak,
I am glad that you want to give the server a chance, and I know it may seem daunting to join at first. The most common start to a new user on the server is to go into the mining world and start mining for materials. From spawn, walk south west (use the f3 menu to see cardinal directions) and follow the yellow wool path to reach the portal for the mining world.
Once in the mining world, do "/kit starter" for some starter tools and blocks, then "/wild land" to get teleported to a random spot where you can mine. The mining world is not a good place to build a house, as grief is permitted and our lock system is disabled. I would mine until you get a full inventory, and sell what you can to the server by doing "/sell <itemname>". While you can sell most materials to players for more money, I would recommend selling items to the server until you get about 1.5k eco-dollars( you can check your money with /bal, you start out with $0 on joining the server) then buying a plot in a town.
The best way to buy a plot is in trade chat "/ch tr" and asking to join a town. The average cost of a 10x10 plot on this server is 1,000 eco-dollars, however mayors can charge more or less for a plot. The person selling a plot will most likely be a mayor or higher ranked user, however it can also be a resident. For your first plot, any town will do, however looking for a town that has a portal and a public farm would be in your best interests for the future growth on the server. Once you buy a plot, make sure to set a home there with the "/sethome" command, and using "/home" to return to the location you set it at.
This guide should give you the basic information you need to start out on the server, and if you have anymore questions, feel free to ask me in-game if you see me around, or respond to this thread. I hope you enjoy your time on this server ^_^. -

I remember when I first arrived on ECC I was pretty confused. I wasn't really familiar with minecraft either.
The tutorials, the website wiki, are both great resources, as well as some of the more serious discussions on the forums.
If you need personal guidance with ECC, I am willing to assist. Feel free to forum PM me, or PM me in game, and I can try to help or direct you to resources.
This also goes for anyone who needs help getting accustomed to ECC -- I am happy to help anyone.
